Technique matters. Of course it does.

But the therapists with fully booked schedules and loyal clients will tell you the same thing. People return to the place where they feel safe, understood, and taken care of as a whole person.

That starts before the session begins.

It happened in the middle of an ordinary conversation.

Someone asked me for advice, and without thinking, I gave them the exact words my dad used to tell me. I stopped for a second after saying them because I could almost hear his voice behind mine. And strangely, instead of breaking my heart, it made me smile.

That was the day I understood something I hadn’t understood before. My dad had spent years leaving pieces of himself inside me without either of us knowing it. His words. His values. His way of looking at life. I still miss the man who taught me those things, more than words can explain. But sometimes Dad returns in the smallest pieces of who I have become.
