In honor of National Assisted Living Week, our residents spent the morning doing something extra special—writing heartfelt thank-you letters to our amazing staff. ✍️🥰

Our team gives so much of themselves each day to care for, support, encourage, and love our residents. Today, our residents had the opportunity to turn the tables and remind our staff just how much they are appreciated. 💙

Another great day of celebrating National Assisted Living Week! 💙

We brought a little carnival fun right here to Bluegrass Way, and our residents had a blast! From corn dogs and soft pretzels to games, and even a tattoo booth! 🌭🥨🎯🎪

We believe activities are about so much more than simply filling the day—they’re about creating connection, encouraging participation, bringing back familiar memories, and giving our residents something to look forward to.

And judging by all the smiles, our carnival was a pretty big hit! ❤️

This Sunday marks the beginning of National Assisted Living Week, a week dedicated to recognizing the residents, families, caregivers, and countless people who make assisted living communities special.

At Bluegrass Way Senior Living, we believe assisted living is about so much more than providing a place to live.

It’s about serving others.
It’s about protecting dignity.
It’s about creating belonging.
It’s about showing compassion when someone needs it most.
And sometimes, it’s simply about sitting beside someone, listening to their story, sharing a laugh, or holding their hand.

The work we do isn’t always easy, and it certainly isn’t just a job. Every day, our team has the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our residents and their families.

Our company is Goodworks Unlimited, and that name carries a special meaning for us. We believe we are called to do good works for God by serving others with love, kindness, compassion, and purpose.

I have been resident service aide for 8 years here at bluegrass way. Working in assisted living offers a chance to make a direct, positive difference in daily lives of older adults.

Building strong bonds, you get to know residents, listen to their life stories, and share meaningful moments. Supporting residents with daily task brings deep personal fulfillment and human connection.

Building strong communication, patience and healthcare support experience. These daily interactions help improve the emotional and physical health of my residents.

Today, we pause to remember a day that changed our nation forever.

We remember the lives that were lost.
We remember the families who were forever changed.
We remember the first responders who ran toward danger while others were running away.
We remember the courage, sacrifice, and extraordinary acts of kindness that emerged in the midst of unimaginable tragedy.

Twenty-five years later, we still remember.

May we never forget the lives behind the numbers, the families behind the headlines, and the heroes who gave everything to help others.

Today, we honor them by remembering—not only the tragedy, but also the strength, compassion, unity, and courage that followed.

🌟 Resident of the Month: Mr. Jimmie Downey 🌟

This month, we are honored to celebrate Mr. Jimmie Downey as our Resident of the Month! ❤️

Jimmie is a proud Adair County native who spent more than 30 years building and running his family-owned sawmill business. His dedication to his work and family is a wonderful reflection of the values he has carried throughout his life.

But if you ask Jimmie what he’s most proud of, there’s no question—his family holds the biggest place in his heart. ❤️ He has been blessed with a beautiful family, and his great-grandbaby, who recently celebrated turning two, is his absolute pride and joy! You’ll often hear the love and pride in his voice when he talks about his family and their accomplishments.

Jimmie has also had a lifelong love for cattle and the stockyards. He has enjoyed attending stockyard sales throughout the years and has always had a special appreciation for the cattle business and the people who make it a part of their lives.

From building a family business to raising a family of his own, Jimmie’s life is filled with hard work, cherished memories, and the people he loves most.

We are so grateful to have Jimmie as part of our community and love hearing the stories that give us a glimpse into the life he’s lived. Congratulations, Jimmie! We are proud to celebrate you as our Resident of the Month! 🥰❤️

I have worked at Bluegrass Way Senior Living for the past few months, and I have truly loved every moment. I cherish every resident, every conversation, every piece of advice, and every story they share with me. Getting to know them and hearing about their lives has been such a rewarding experience, and I am grateful to be a part of their daily lives.

One of my favorite parts of working in senior living is building meaningful relationships with the residents and treating each of them like they are a part of my own family. I love being someone they can look forward to seeing each day and bringing a little extra happiness and positivity into their lives. I always try to light up any room I walk into and make those around me feel cared for and appreciated.
