Because especially in those first few weeks of pregnancy its pulling from moms nutrient reserves.

I’ve been seeing a ton of really low ferritin recently and women are told oh no it’s fine but it’s not, because it’s truly such a crucial metric for hormone health, energy, oxygenation, and obviously for fertility and pregnancy.

I am not a fan of blindly supplementing iron without assessing digestion, gut status, pathogens because many times those are a big driving force making these issues worse and iron is a fuel source they LOVE.

Highly recommend working with a skilled practitioner well versed in this area (hi it’s me 😽) if you want more personalized approach to building this level back up and maintaining it at a healthy level no matter what you goal (cycle support, ovulation, pregnancy outcomes, energy, postpartum etc)
