It started one quiet December.

Business was slow, and I gave myself one gift that year. A Zoom class with a friend, learning how a mala comes together.

The count of the beads.

My why came through on a retreat notebook page this week, in blue ink, with a bluebird sitting quietly outside.

I carry one message.

Live.
Enjoy your time here on Earth.
Bring more love and harmony in, every chance you get.

For years I thought that meant giving until there was nothing left.

Caretaking everyone.
Undercharging.
Feeling guilty for wanting more.

And then the realization landed:

My happiness may be the most generous thing I offer.

When my heart is open, abundance flows, and money becomes a symbol of alignment instead of something to chase or reject.

At twenty, I took my Reiki Master class in Sedona, sure I was collecting one more set of tools.

I was in such a doing space back then.
Trying to figure out who I was going to be.

Gathering everything I could.

It took years, and teaching the class myself, to understand what actually happened that weekend.

I didn't get more tools.

I became a clearer channel.

Reiki Master training isn't about doing more.

It's about holding more light and letting it move through you with less in the way.

The year I gave my notice at the women’s prison, I didn’t have a business plan.

I had a crystal grid,
a Chamber of Commerce flyer,
and a front room for rent in Cannon Falls.

And a knowing I couldn’t talk myself out of.

So many of the women I work with arrive at that same edge.

Something big ended.

A loss, a relationship,
a career that stopped fitting.

And underneath the grief there’s a vision that won’t leave her alone.

Often it’s three business ideas at once.

Often it’s a quiet sense that she doesn’t belong anywhere anymore,

so why would anyone want to see what she’s building.

That feeling may not mean you’re off track.

It could be the old paradigm loosening its grip.

Behind the scenes today, and my heart is so full. I’m putting together the folders and the little gift bags for the very first retreat I’m hosting on my own, this weekend, at an Airbnb on a lake in Wisconsin.

There’s something tender about this one. For years I held space inside other people’s containers. This is me building my own room from the ground up, and getting to fill it with women ready to come home to themselves.

And it’s only the beginning. More retreats are coming, and I can’t wait to show you what’s taking shape.
