The people closest to you may know you better than anyone. But that doesn’t mean they automatically know what you would want in every situation.
Who should make decisions for you? What happens to your property? Are there specific wishes you want honored? Who should handle the responsibilities you leave behind?
Those aren’t questions your family should have to answer based on assumptions.
Estate planning gives your wishes a voice when you may not be there to explain them yourself.
So ask yourself: do the people you love actually know what you want, or are you assuming they do?
