💙 Men's mental health matters, too.

Sometimes men feel pressure to be strong, keep pushing, and handle everything on their own. But struggling doesn't make you weak, and asking for help isn't a failure.

You don't have to have all the answers. You don't have to carry everything alone.

Taking care of your mental health is one of the strongest things you can do.

Let's break the stigma and make room for honest conversations.

To our Dover family,
Our hearts are breaking right alongside yours. There really aren't words big enough for the pain our community is carrying right now, but we want every single student, parent, and teacher to hear this clearly: you are not alone, and you do not have to carry this heavy darkness by yourself.

To our students: your life matters so much. You are wanted here. You are NEEDED here. Whatever you are feeling right now—fear, confusion, numbness, anger, sadness—it is okay, and you don’t have to have it all figured out. Just please ask for help and stay.

To our parents and guardians: look your kiddos in the eye. Ask about their fears. Ask about their challenges. Enourage them. Do fun things with them. Grieve with them. We get through times like this by leaning on each other and refusing to let anyone walk in silence.

We support Dover and everyone who calls it home. If you, your child, or a friend is hurting or just needs someone safe to talk through this with, please reach out to us at Rize Up Counseling or use the free 24/7 lifelines below.

Please look out for one another. You are loved, you are wanted, and there is always hope.

Today is National Mentoring Day, and we want to take a moment to honor the life-changing power of simply showing up for someone.
Mentorship doesn’t always look like formal programs or scheduled sit-downs. More often, it’s the teacher who notices a student having a tough week, the coach who stays after practice to listen, the older sibling offering an honest perspective, or the neighbor who takes time to say, “I believe in you.”
Having even one consistent, caring adult or trusted peer in a young person’s life can completely alter their trajectory. It provides an anchor during turbulent seasons, reminds them their voice matters, and proves they don’t have to navigate the hard stuff alone.
To every mentor, educator, counselor, and everyday supporter pouring time, wisdom, and patience into the next generation: thank you. Your investment runs deeper than you might ever see.
Take a moment today to reach out and thank someone who guided you when you needed it most—or take a step to be that safe, grounding presence for someone else.
If you or someone you care about is walking through a heavy season and needs support, our team at Rize Up Counseling is always here to help you navigate it. Reach out anytime at 234-401-0012 or visit rizeupcounseling.com.

"Most of the time, when I think about the memory [of my trauma], I feel like it's happening right now. But I'm noticing when I think about it now, it doesn't feel that way anymore."

Good trauma work is subtle. It's the gentle release, the shift in a thought. A whispered "I am broken" becomes a deeply felt "I am resilient." It's slow, and it's subtle.

But it's powerful.

Our therapists are trained in various forms of trauma therapy. We'd be happy to meet with you and help you find the best fit for your healing journey.

❤️ Self-care isn't selfish.

Sometimes self-care looks less like bubble baths and more like:

Setting a boundary.

Saying no.

Getting enough sleep.

Taking a break.

Asking for help.

Leaving an unhealthy situation.

Making an appointment with a therapist.

You don't have to earn rest or wait until you're completely exhausted to take care of yourself.

Taking care of yourself allows you to show up for the people and things that matter to you.

You deserve care, too.

Reach out today: 234-401-0012

🍂 **Maybe you don't need to push harder. Maybe you need a break.**

Your mind can become tired, too.

Some signs you may need to slow down include:

-Constant exhaustion
-Increased irritability
-Trouble concentrating
-Feeling overwhelmed by small things
-Wanting to withdraw from others
-Feeling like you can't shut your brain off

Rest isn't laziness.

Taking a break doesn't mean you're falling behind.

Sometimes stepping back is exactly what allows you to move forward.

Give yourself permission to pause. ❤️

You don't have to be in crisis to go to therapy. ❤️

Therapy can be helpful when you're:

• Feeling stuck
• Struggling with relationships
• Navigating a major life change
• Feeling overwhelmed
• Working through grief
• Wanting to understand yourself better
• Trying to build healthier coping skills
• Simply feeling like something isn't quite right

You don't have to wait until everything falls apart before reaching out.

Sometimes therapy is about getting support before you reach your breaking point.

🌎 World Mental Health Day — October 10

Mental health is health.

Talking about anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, stress, or other mental health struggles shouldn't be something we feel ashamed of.

Asking for help doesn't mean you're weak.

It means you're human—and you're willing to take care of yourself.

Let's continue creating spaces where people feel safe saying, “I'm struggling,” without fear of judgment.

Today, check in on yourself. Check in on someone you love. And remember that support is available. ❤️
