Arnold Funeral Homes

Arnold Funeral Homes Arnold Funeral Homes are family-owned and operated with over 5 generations of funeral planning history.

A lot has changed in the funeral profession since 1889 when J.L. Arnold came to Canton and purchased a furniture company and funeral home. The store produced furniture and expertly crafted wooden caskets and had embalming facilities typical of that period. As time progressed the furniture store was sold, and the main focus became caring for the people of the Canton area by providing them with the

highest quality of funeral service. In 1901, Arnold Funeral Home was honored by being selected to direct the funeral arrangements of Canton's beloved President William McKinley. In 1985, the Arnold family expanded into the Hartville community with a new funeral home location, and 4 years later, built and opened a new mortuary in Canton. Now in the fifth generation of the Arnold family, we are still guided by one simple principle: We are here to faithfully serve the people of our community without regard for rank, resources, or creed.

Being around family can feel comforting and difficult at the same time. You might laugh, then suddenly feel the absence of someone who should be there. That shift is part of grief. You don’t have to hide it or explain it.

Milestones can bring a different kind of weight when someone is missing. Even meaningful days can feel complicated. If that’s where you are, you’re not doing anything wrong. You’re just carrying love in a new way.

Father’s Day can bring up a lot of emotion when someone you love is no longer here. Today, we honor the memories, the lessons, and the presence that still lingers in the small moments. That kind of love doesn’t go away.

Juneteenth is a time to reflect on history and recognize the significance of freedom. It’s also an opportunity to listen, learn, and continue building a stronger, more compassionate community together.

Serving families isn’t something we take lightly. Over the years, that trust has been passed down through generations, and it continues to shape how we care for every family who walks through our doors.

A song, a voice, even the sound of a warm evening can bring someone back to mind without warning. Those moments can catch you off guard, but they’re also a reminder of how deeply someone is still connected to your life.

There’s a lot of pressure to stay busy this time of year. But you don’t have to match that pace. If your body or your mind needs rest, listen to it. Slowing down isn’t falling behind, it’s taking care of yourself.

We would like to take a moment to thank our close friends at the Hartville Fire Department for bringing their truck to honor the life of Edwin Ringer and his dedicated service to our Hartville community.

Halfway through the year is a good time to slow down and check in with yourself. Not where you thought you’d be, not what you think you should feel. Just where you are right now.

Give yourself some grace in this time.

Comfort doesn’t always come in obvious ways. It might show up in a quiet evening, a familiar song, or just stepping outside for a few minutes. Whatever brings you a sense of calm, let that be enough for today.
