💙 is such an important reminder—for more reasons than we may realize.
Medical identification isn't only important for individuals with conditions such as diabetes or heart disease. For an aging loved one living with Alzheimer's or dementia, PTSD, a traumatic brain injury, serious allergies, communication difficulties, or certain medical devices, having the right information readily available could completely change how they're approached and cared for during an emergency.
Imagine your loved one being unable to explain why they're confused, frightened, unable to communicate clearly, or reacting differently to an unfamiliar situation. A simple medical ID can give first responders important information when your loved one may not be able to provide it themselves.
As we recognize Medical Alert Awareness Month, take a moment to ask yourself: If my loved one couldn't speak for themselves in an emergency, would someone know what they needed to know? 💙
Sometimes, something as small as a bracelet can provide a very big piece of information.
