Last week we had so much fun in our Life Skills Development program in Bradenton! ๐จ๐ณ๐
We spent time doing some fun arts and crafts, learning about our rights, learning cooking skills, working on social skills and making and keeping friends, and we added in some shopping!
Every activity in our Life Skills Development program is thoughtfully designed to promote independence, confidence, and community inclusion:
๐จ Arts & Crafts: Creative activities help improve fine motor skills, encourage self-expression, and boost focus and spatial awareness in a relaxed, stress-free environment.
โ๏ธ Learning About Rights: Understanding self-advocacy and personal rights empowers individuals to make informed choices, set healthy boundaries, and take an active role in shaping their own lives.
๐ณ Cooking Skills: Practical kitchen experience builds self-reliance, improves math and reading through measuring and following instructions, and teaches essential safety and nutrition.
๐ค Social Skills & Friendship: Guided social opportunities help build meaningful relationships, improve communication, and enhance emotional well-being by reducing feelings of isolation.
๐ Community Shopping: Real-world shopping trips teach financial literacy, budget management, decision-making, and navigating public spaces with confidence.
We are so proud of everyoneโs hard work, growth, and enthusiasm! Check out some highlights from our week below. ๐
