The degree didn’t come with a muzzle. It came with boundaries.

It didn’t teach me to shrink when I’m disrespected.
It taught me to name it, call it out, and stop absorbing s**t that was never mine to carry in the first place.

And you don’t need a degree to learn that lesson.

If you’ve spent most your life being the one who “gets it” so others tend to assume you’ll just absorb whatever bulls**t they throw at you, this is your reminder too...

You’re allowed to stop explaining your reactions to people who never questioned their own fu***ng behavior.

End of story.

You can check off the whole fu***ng list and still feel like nothing actually got done.

You show up, you handle it, you keep the whole thing running, and somewhere in there you stopped asking if any of it was working for you too. That gap between doing a lot and feeling anything isn’t something willpower fixes.

It’s usually a sign you’ve been running on empty for longer than you’ve let yourself admit.

If this is hitting different today, just know I see you and you don’t have to keep doing it this way.

Saying no probably still feels like it’s going to cost you something, even when you can’t explain what.

Maybe you agree to plans you don’t want, stay quiet when something’s bothering you, or say yes before you’ve even thought it through. That’s not weak willpower. It’s a system you built a long time ago to keep everyone around you comfortable, because comfortable felt safer than you being honest.

A boundaries script won’t fix that part.

You don’t have to have this figured out today.
You don’t have to explain why it’s hitting different or perform like you’re fine when you’re fu***ng not.
Sometimes the bravest thing is just letting today be hard without rushing yourself past it.
You’ll get there, you always do. But you’re allowed to not be there yet.
If today is heavy, I see you.

Starting over sounds like proof that nothing you did before counted, like you’re back at ground zero and all those years just got fu***ng erased. But you’re not empty handed here. You’ve got everything you learned the hard way, every version of you that figured out how to keep going when it felt impossible.

That’s not nothing. That’s the whole foundation you’re building from.

What questions came up for you reading this? Drop them below, I’d love to dig into it with you.

That voice showed up to protect you, not to torture you.

It learned a long time ago that staying two steps ahead of every mistake was the only way to feel safe.

So now you replay conversations at 1am, rewrite texts four times before you send them, and call it being careful. It’s exhausting living like every move might get graded. If you’re in Florida and ready to find out where that voice actually came from, so you can finally turn the volume down, I’ve got spots open right now.

If it’s not exceptional, then you’re exposed AF, and every part of you knows it. That’s probably the belief running the show. Perfectionism, at its core, is usually a shame-avoidance strategy.

Somewhere along the way you probably learned that being exceptional was what kept you safe from criticism, rejection, or the sense that you weren’t enough. So the standard was never really about the actual work being good. It was about staying far enough above the line so nobody could find a reason to come for you.

That’s why finishing doesn’t feel like relief. Because relief would mean you would let it be seen. Instead you’re scanning it one more time, looking for the thing that could expose you before anyone else finds it first.

Perfection was never about pride in the work. It was always about controlling what people got to see and judge you on. You’re not chasing excellence. You’re staying hidden in plain sight. And you fu***ng don’t have to anymore.

This isn’t because she’s controlling, but because somewhere along the way, she probably learned that if she wasn’t the one holding it all together, no one would. That belief doesn’t always show up as a conscious thought.

Sometimes it shows up as exhaustion she can’t explain, a jaw that won’t unclench, a “no it’s fine, I’ve got it” said on autopilot. So we work with the part of her that may have learned she wasn’t allowed to put something down without consequence.

If this sounds like you, you’re not necessarily controlling. You’re probably tired AF. And you’ve been carrying more than your fair share for long enough. You don’t have to earn the right to stop.

That’s not laziness and not necessarily depression either. It’s your nervous system doing exactly what it learned to do a long time ago: go numb so you can keep functioning.

When you’ve spent years being the one who holds it together, doesn’t get to fall apart, has to keep performing competence no matter what’s happening underneath, your body eventually stops registering the good stuff too.

Numbness isn’t a malfunction, usually it’s protection. So if nobody’s said it to you yet: you’re not broken. You’re just still bracing for a threat that isn’t there anymore.

Save this for the day you need the reminder. 💖

Often times we avoid feelings because we think sitting with them means f*cking drowning in them. But it doesn’t work like that. Feelings can move through you a lot faster than the story in your head will, if you actually let it happen instead of arguing with it or trying to figure out why you’re feeling that way in the first place.

The urge to reorganize a drawer, refold laundry that’s already folded, or suddenly remember an errand you need to do isn’t random. It’s your nervous system looking for an exit strategy the second things get uncomfortable AF, and that’s worth noticing, not judging.

The goal isn’t to feel everything all the time. It’s to stop being afraid of what happens if you let yourself feel something for a few minutes instead of running from it like the emotional track star you are.

This is what sitting with your feelings actually looks like, not just someone saying ‘feel your feelings’ while you sit there thinking, ok, then what the f**k do I do?

Comment your go to escape hatch. Mine’s reorganizing a drawer that was already fu***ng organized.
