One of the greatest blessings of having the knowledge and skills I use in my practice is being able to bring those same supportive techniques home to my own family. 🤍
I came home from work to find that one of my girls was experiencing a complex migraine, while another was struggling with constipation and abdominal discomfort. So, I put my hands and my training to work.
For my daughter experiencing the migraine, I incorporated gentle Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) along with therapeutic work to the upper trapezius, levator scapulae, cervical musculature, and suboccipital region. I also incorporated a suboccipital release technique to help decrease muscular tension through the neck and base of the skull and encourage overall relaxation.
For my other daughter, I incorporated gentle abdominal MLD, followed by light abdominal massage using the natural pathway of the colon to help support intestinal motility, relaxation, and healthy bowel movement.
And then we went back to some of the simplest—but often overlooked—foundations of wellness: sunshine, fresh air, hydration, and movement. ☀️
I love being able to combine different techniques based on what the body needs rather than approaching everyone the same way. Sometimes supporting the body means addressing muscular tension. Sometimes it means encouraging circulation and lymphatic flow. Sometimes it means movement, rest, sunlight, hydration—or a combination of all of it.
By the end of the day, both of my girls were back to running around and playing like themselves again.
And this mama’s heart is grateful. 🙏🏼
Thank You, Jesus, for the knowledge, the tools, and the ability to care for the people You have entrusted to me. 🤍
