Work hard. Play hard. Dance harder. 💃✨

Therapy should challenge you—but it should also make you smile.

Every intensive is filled with hard work, problem-solving, strength building, and practicing skills that don’t always come easy. But it’s also filled with laughter, connection, confidence, and moments like these.

Because when kids enjoy the process, they’re more willing to take on challenges, try new things, and celebrate what their bodies can do.

Sometimes the biggest wins aren’t measured in reps or milestones—they’re found in the smiles, confidence, and victory dances along the way. 💜

What looks like play is often some of the most important work we do 💛

While kids are busy having fun, we’re targeting skills like strength, coordination, postural control, motor planning, visual motor integration, problem-solving, and regulation.

The goal isn’t to make therapy feel like exercise.

The goal is to create meaningful opportunities for children to practice skills in ways that keep them motivated, engaged, and successful.

Because when kids are having fun, they’re often willing to work harder than they even realize ✨

That’s the power of play with purpose 💛

Different abilities. Same joy. Same sister bond 💛

One twin was working hard in an OT intensive while her sister was across the way doing a private gymnastics lesson — and through collaboration, creativity, and adaptation, they were still able to share moments of movement and play together.

Because inclusion isn’t about doing things exactly the same way. It’s about creating opportunities for every child to feel connected, involved, and celebrated 🫶

So grateful for partnerships like that help make moments like these possible ✨

Sometimes the things we notice in our kids don’t fully make sense.

The constant movement.
The clumsiness.
The difficulty sitting still or staying focused.
The big reactions.

These behaviors can have many causes — but sometimes, retained primitive reflexes are part of the picture.

Primitive reflexes that haven’t fully integrated can impact how a child moves, regulates, and interacts with their environment.

This doesn’t mean something is “wrong.”
It just means their body may need a little extra support in building strong foundations.

If you’ve ever felt like something doesn’t quite add up, you’re not alone 💛

More to come on how we support this.

Happy Mother’s Day 🩷

So grateful for the incredible moms I get to know through this work — the advocates, encouragers, problem-solvers, comforters, and absolute superheroes behind these amazing kids.

Today I’m especially thankful for my own mom, who showed me what unconditional love, advocacy, and relentless support look like while raising a child with special needs ❤️

And to my own boys… thank you for making me “Mom.” It’s my favorite role of all.

Hope all the moms out there feel extra loved and appreciated today 💛

Round 3 is here 🎉

Transitions build strength 💪

It’s not just about sitting, standing, or walking—
it’s how kids move between those positions that builds strength, coordination, and confidence.

In our next PlayStrong Kids: Strong Foundations class, we’re focusing on mobility + transitions through play—rolling, crawling, climbing, and exploring movement with intention.

✨ Small group. Real coaching. Big impact.

Come learn how to support your child’s movement in a way that fits into everyday life 💛

Sometimes progress starts with slowing down and learning to really see what the body is doing 💛

One of my favorite parts of therapy is helping kids build awareness and understanding of their own movement patterns. Watching videos together allows us to pause, analyze, problem-solve, and make adjustments in a way that helps movement become more intentional and efficient.

It’s not just about telling a child what to do — it’s about helping them understand their body, build confidence, and become part of the process.

Those moments of connection, teamwork, and “aha” understanding are some of the most meaningful 💛

Primitive reflexes are automatic movement patterns we’re all born with.

They play an important role in early development — helping babies move, respond to their environment, and begin building foundational skills.

As the brain matures, these reflexes are meant to integrate, allowing for more controlled, coordinated, and purposeful movement.

But sometimes, they don’t fully integrate.

When that happens, they can impact things like posture, coordination, attention, and regulation in ways that may not always be obvious.

For many families, learning about reflexes can help connect the dots and better understand what their child is experiencing.

More to come on this 💛
