Sometimes the best motivation is a sibling or two šŸ’™šŸ©·

There’s just something about having your brother or sister jump in that makes the hard work a little more fun. 🄹 More giggles, more motivation, a little healthy competition… and somehow we sneak in a whole lot of work along the way. šŸ’ŖšŸ¼

This one hits a little differently for me because I grew up being that sibling. My brother and I spent a lot of time together through therapies, appointments, and all the extra things that came along with his needs. So I know firsthand how much siblings can be a part of the journey — and how some of those ordinary little moments end up becoming memories you carry with you šŸ’ž

I love getting siblings involved when I can. Not just because they can be the BEST motivators, but because therapy doesn’t always have to feel like therapy.

Sometimes it looks like working hard, laughing way too much, cheering each other on, and making some pretty sweet memories together. šŸ„°šŸ’›

✨ A special feeding therapy opportunity is coming to Southwest Florida! ✨

One thing I’ve heard again and again from families in our area is how difficult it can be to find specialized, high-quality feeding therapy—especially when a child needs more than a traditional once-a-week approach.

So when I had the opportunity to bring an amazing friend and colleague to Cape Coral for a Feeding Mini Intensive, I knew I wanted to make it happen! šŸ’›

Over Labor Day weekend, 3 Step Services LLC will be offering a 5-day feeding intensive with:

šŸ„„ A comprehensive feeding evaluation
šŸ„„ 2–3 feeding sessions per day to build consistency and momentum
šŸ„„ Individualized treatment planning
šŸ„„ Parent education and coaching throughout the week
šŸ„„ Sessions available at PlayStrong Intensives or in your home within the travel radius

This is such a unique opportunity for families who have been struggling with feeding challenges, limited food variety, mealtime stress, or simply haven’t been able to access the level of feeding support their child needs locally.

I’m so excited to be able to open the PlayStrong space and help bring this resource to our community. She is an amazing feeding therapist and someone I truly trust, and I can’t wait for our local families to have access to her expertise!

Play is powerful. šŸ’›

Today we focused on fine motor skills, hand strength, and playful learning in our PlayStrong Foundations class. While the little ones were busy having fun, parents were learning simple, purposeful activities they can easily carry over at home to continue building skills between classes.

I love giving families the tools and confidence to support their child’s development through everyday play. Those small moments at home really do add up.

✨ A new adventure has arrived at PlayStrong! ✨

I’m always looking for ways to make therapy more engaging, more challenging, and more fun—and this new climbing system is exactly that.

Every climb, reach, pull, hang, and step creates opportunities to build the foundational skills that support everyday movement and participation.

We’ll be working on:
šŸ’Ŗ Strength
āš–ļø Balance
🧠 Motor planning
🤲 Coordination
šŸ‘£ Body awareness
šŸ’› Confidence

The best part? Most kids will simply think they’re climbing and having fun.

And honestly… that’s exactly how I like it. šŸ’›

I can’t wait to see all the adventures ahead✨

Turns out my ā€œvery different lifeā€ includes blowing bubbles, holding open tunnels, pretending to be dinosaurs, celebrating tiny victories, and somehow convincing kids they’re just playing… all while they’re building strength, confidence, and new skills. šŸ˜„šŸ’›

It may look a little different, but I truly have the best job in the world. 🄰

I’m so grateful for the incredible families who trust me with their children and for the opportunity to do work that I genuinely love every single day. šŸ’›

This is why the work matters. šŸ’›

The video on the left captures where this journey began. The video on the right reflects weeks of dedication, persistence, and courage.

Improved movement isn’t just about walking differently. It’s about building strength, confidence, efficiency, and creating new opportunities to participate in everyday life.

I’m incredibly proud of this kiddo—not just for the progress you can see, but for the resilience, determination, and trust they showed every step of the way.

Sometimes the biggest transformations begin with the smallest, most consistent steps. šŸ’›

Everyone loves seeing progress—but what inspires me most is everything that happens behind the scenes. šŸ’›

The strengthening.
The repetition.
The problem-solving.
The laughter.
The determination.
The moments that don’t always make it onto social media.

Meaningful progress isn’t created in one session. It’s built one small step at a time through consistency, trust, and a whole lot of hard work.

Every activity had a purpose, and every challenge became an opportunity to grow.

Next I’ll share why all of that work mattered. ✨

Retained primitive reflexes matter because of how they affect everyday life šŸ’›

When reflexes don’t fully integrate, the body may have to work harder to maintain posture, coordinate movement, regulate attention, and respond to sensory information.

Over time, children often develop compensations that help them get by—but those compensations can require a lot of energy.

That extra effort can show up as fatigue, frustration, difficulty focusing, challenges with movement, or feeling less confident in their abilities.

The goal of reflex integration isn’t perfection. It’s helping build stronger foundations so children can move, learn, play, and participate with greater ease and confidence.

Because when the foundation is strong, everything built on top of it becomes a little easier ✨

Happy Father’s Day to all the incredible dads out there šŸ’™

To the dads showing up for early mornings, long days, therapy appointments, sporting events, bedtime routines, and everything in between — thank you.

Through my work, I’ve had the privilege of watching so many fathers love, support, encourage, and advocate for their children in ways that often go unseen. The impact you have on your children’s confidence, resilience, and sense of security is immeasurable.

Today I’m especially grateful for my husband and the amazing father he is to our boys. Watching him teach, encourage, play, and love them so fiercely is one of life’s greatest gifts.

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads, grandpas, stepdads, and father figures out there. Your presence matters, your efforts matter, and the love you pour into your families matters more than you know šŸ’™
