Today we are highlighting another Alumni of BA who is now apart of our team helping our women. Please see Sarah’s experience with Beyond Addiction:
“When I first walked through the doors of Beyond Addiction, I was in a place in my life where I needed more than just help getting sober—I needed to learn how to live a completely different life, be a completely different person. I needed someone to believe in me when I struggled to believe in myself. I needed guidance, accountability, compassion, and the tools to build a foundation strong enough to support my recovery long after treatment ended. Beyond Addiction gave me that and so much more.
My time in treatment at Beyond Addiction changed me in ways that I will carry for the rest of my life! I learned that recovery isn’t simply about putting down a substance. It’s about learning who you are without it. It’s about confronting the things that brought you to that point, learning healthier ways to cope, rebuilding relationships, establishing boundaries, finding your values, and most importantly, learning to believe that you are worthy of a better life. The staff didn’t just tell me what I needed to do….they showed me how to do it. They gave me tools that I continue to use every single day. They taught me that setbacks don’t have to define me, that asking for help is a strength, and that recovery is something worth fighting for every day.
What makes my story even more meaningful is that I now have the incredible privilege of being an employee here.
There is something incredibly humbling about coming back to the same place that once helped save my life, but this time, walking through the doors as someone who gets to help others. I know what it feels like to sit in that chair and wonder if life can really be different. I know what it feels like to be scared, ashamed, overwhelmed, and unsure of what comes next. And now I get to be one of the people who tells someone else, “Yes, it can.”
I don’t take that opportunity for granted.
I am beyond fortunate to have received the gift of recovery here, but I am even more grateful that I now have the opportunity to give back to the place that gave me so much.
For me, this isn’t just where I went to treatment. This is where my life changed. And now, I get to help change lives here, too.”
We thank you and applaud your work!!!
