We believe that taking care of the entire family helps us better to un

derstand each member. In addition, we are an accredited Family Medicine Residency which means we train physicians to be Family Medicine specialists with an emphasis on health care needs regardless of your age or gender. Emphasis is placed on patient education and prevention of illness. SIU Family Physicians clinic is staffed by qualified doctors (MD's & PA-C's) who have chosen their specialty certification in Family Medicine. You and your family will be assigned to one physician. This may be a resident physician or a faculty physician. A resident physician is a medical school graduate who is a licensed physician in the State of Illinois and is seeking advanced training in Family Medicine. A faculty physician is a specialist in Family Medicine. You will be seen by your assigned family physician at all possible times. Alternatively, you may be seen by another team physician who shares calls with your doctor. However, you may be assured that we will make every effort to provide you care with a physician you know.

You don’t have to wait until you feel sick to take care of your health.
Health screenings can help find health concerns early, sometimes before you notice any symptoms. Early detection can make it easier to manage a condition, start treatment, and protect your long-term health.

Preventive care can include screenings and checkups for:
• Blood pressure and heart health
• Diabetes and cholesterol
• Breast and cervical health
• Prostate health
• HIV and hepatitis C
• Colorectal cancer
• Lung cancer
• Skin cancer
• Dental health
• Vision and eye health

The screenings you need may change throughout your life. Your age, family history, medical history, lifestyle, and other risk factors can all affect which screenings are right for you. Regular checkups help you stay informed about your health.
Talk with your healthcare provider about the screenings you need and make preventive care part of your health routine. Your future self will thank you!

▪Since 2012 we have served over 2 million patients across all 16 of our sites.
▪We strive to help patients in the 8 rural and urban communities we are located in, but serve dozens of surrounding counties with services such as dental, medical, behavioral health, medications assistance and recovery, geriatrics, express care, integration with local public health departments and so much more.
