If anyone is having difficulties with appointment transportation, this is some additional information that may be beneficial!

🚗 MaineCare covers Non-Emergency Transportation (NET) for eligible members. You may get a ride to your MaineCare-covered appointment or have your ride reimbursed by MaineCare.

‼️Make sure to make an appointment at least 2 business days in advance and check that it is covered by MaineCare and approved by the transportation broker.

❓What if I have a complaint?
Contact the transportation broker in your region and file a complaint. If you would like a response from the broker, you must request a follow-up call or a response in writing. If you are not satisfied with the response, you can call MaineCare Member Services at 1-800-977-6740 and request to file a complaint against the broker.

If any families are in need of school supplies, mark your calendars!

Thanks to a generous donation from Amazon, Caribou Parks & Recreation will be giving away 144 backpacks filled with school supplies to students in grades K–8 from Caribou and surrounding communities.

⏰ 9:00–10:30 a.m.
📍 Outside parking lot at the Caribou Parks and Recreation Department - 55 Bennett Drive

Backpacks will be available first come, first served, with one backpack per child, while supplies last.

⭐️ Back-to-School Scheduling Reminder from North Star Pediatric Therapy! ⭐️

As we get ready for a new school year, we wanted to share a quick reminder with our North Star families about therapy appointment availability.

We know that after-school appointments are often the most convenient option for families. Unfortunately, our after-school openings are very limited. There are only so many hours between the school bell and bedtime, and as much as we’d love to add a few more hours to the day, we haven’t quite figured out how to make that happen yet!

We understand that daytime appointments can be difficult to fit into a family’s schedule. School, work, transportation, siblings, sports, activities, and all the other pieces of daily life can make finding the “perfect” appointment time challenging.

If your child needs therapy and a daytime appointment is available, accepting that appointment may allow your child to begin or continue services sooner rather than waiting for an after-school opening.

Need documentation? We are happy to provide documentation of your child’s medically necessary therapy appointment for their school or your employer, when appropriate, to help support the time needed for appointments.

If you’re currently waiting for an after-school opening, we appreciate your patience! As appointments become available, we will do our best to accommodate families and find a schedule that works.

Our goal is always to help children access the therapy they need while working with families to make scheduling as manageable as possible. ⭐️

One year.

Our hearts are so full after celebrating North Star Pediatric Therapy’s first birthday with all of you at our Open House! Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate with us. We wish we had taken more photos, but we were simply having too much fun enjoying the day with our amazing families and community!

To our patients and families, thank you for trusting us with your children this past year. It has been a privilege to watch them grow, celebrate milestones, and become part of the North Star family.

Thank you to the families of our staff for your patience, encouragement, and behind-the-scenes support. Owning and growing a small business truly takes a village.

We’re also so grateful for our growing team. Thank you to Sadie, Haleigh, and Aidynn for joining North Star with such passion, kindness, and hard work. You’ve already made a meaningful difference for our children and families.

And to Katelyn - thank you for being here since day one. You’ve been my amazing counterpart and the creative force behind so many of our special events, including this one. North Star wouldn’t be what it is today without your partnership, dedication, and friendship.

Finally, thank you to the Caribou community and all of Aroostook County for welcoming us with open arms. Your support over this past year has meant more than we can say.

We're Considering Saturday Occupational Therapy Appointments!

At North Star Pediatric Therapy, we're always looking for ways to better meet the needs of the families we serve.

We're exploring the possibility of offering Occupational Therapy appointments on Saturday mornings every other week to provide more flexibility for families who have busy weekday schedules.
