🍓 Strawberry field before and after!

The plants in these photos are plug plants—they were started in trays and planted with their roots and growing medium intact. We’re trimming them back to help them put their energy into settling in and establishing strong roots before winter.

We planted both plug plants and bare-root strawberries this season. Bare-root plants arrive dormant with exposed roots, while plug plants come with an established root ball. Both need good care as they settle into the field, and we’re excited to see how they grow next spring! 🌱 HSH Farms

What do you do when you plant 14,000 strawberry plants and still have a few empty rows? You order 1,500 more… lol! 🍓😂

Our new Fronteras bare-root plants are here, and we’re filling those last open spaces at HSH Farms. Bare-root plants arrive without soil around their roots, so we keep the roots moist and get them planted promptly.

One important planting tip: the crown—the center where the leaves grow—should sit right at the soil line. Plant it too deep and it can rot; leave the roots exposed and they can dry out. We’re spreading the roots down into the beds and watering the plants in so they can get settled before spring.

Looks like we’re going to need a few more rows! 🌱

Ma & Pa are out mowing the strawberry field! 🍓 They’re keeping the grass between the rows trimmed and looking good. Around here, everybody pitches in—and we’re grateful for Ma & Pa! 💚

No down time at the farm! 🌿

We’re always working on something new, and this time we’ve been developing small-batch herb salts for HSH Farms, made with our own herb blends.

Rosemary, Sage, Basil, Tuscan, Mediterranean, and more—our new product is coming together and will be available soon! 🧂✨ Stay tuned

Look at that strawberry field come to life! 🌱🍓 The rye grass is turning the walkways into a soft green carpet, and those little strawberry plants are getting settled in for next season. I’m bringing out the mower in the next few days to give the rows a fresh, tidy-up. It’s exciting to watch the 2027 u-pick season take shape—one little plant and one green row at a time! ❤️

Starting more blackberry plants at HSH Farms! 🌱

We’re taking cuttings and getting them potted up under the grow lights, giving them a chance to root and grow into healthy new plants. We’re excited to keep expanding our thornless blackberry patch and, hopefully, have more starts to share with customers down the road. 🌿

From concept rendering to reality! 🧺✨

We started with a rendering of how we wanted the HSH Farms laundry room to look, and now it’s coming together for real! The finished room has the warm wood ceiling, open shelves, farmhouse touches, and our custom laundry sign—complete with turquoise and white weathered paint.

It’s been fun watching the ideas turn into a space our guests can enjoy. We still have a few things to finish outside, but the wash house is feeling more like home every day! 💙🤍
