This number really impressed me!….I’m proud of our little town & the businesses that give such a staggering amount of their earnings back to our community…& I’m so appreciative to those of you in our community & the surrounding communities that see the value in shopping local/supporting local business.
Thank you to the Carlinville CommUnity Chamber of Commerce for compiling & sharing this number. Thank you for all you do to support local business—your help promoting, facilitating, & growing our businesses, like the rest of this community, is never second-rate.
As a Chamber, we see something most people don’t.
Every day, our local businesses are asked to give back. They donate money. They sponsor teams. They provide auction items. They volunteer their time. They support fundraisers, scholarships, community events, nonprofits, schools, and countless local causes.
We were curious what all of those acts of generosity really add up to over the course of a year.
So we did something that had never been done before. We asked every Chamber member to share how much they give back each year and calculated the total.
The answer surprised even us.
Together, our Chamber members invest $1,357,858 back into the Carlinville community every single year.
That’s more than $1.3 million staying right here in our community through sponsorships, charitable giving, volunteer hours, youth programs, scholarships, and so much more.
That’s why we chose to reveal and share this number during 62626 Day.
Because supporting a local business isn’t just about making a purchase.
It’s about supporting the businesses that help sponsor your child’s team. The businesses that donate when a family is in need. The businesses that say “yes” when a school, nonprofit, or community organization asks for help.
When our local businesses succeed, our entire community benefits.
