Temperatures of 103–108°F are expected today and Tuesday, August 25. Please take precautions—especially older adults, medically fragile individuals, children, outdoor workers, and anyone without reliable air conditioning.

✅ Stay indoors in air conditioning when possible
✅ Avoid outdoor activity during peak afternoon hours
✅ Drink fluids regularly unless your doctor has restricted your fluid intake
✅ Check on elderly or vulnerable family members and neighbors
✅ Never leave children, vulnerable adults, or pets inside a parked vehicle

Watch for signs of heat illness, including dizziness, weakness, nausea, headache, heavy sweating, confusion, fainting, or hot, dry skin.

What a fun Senior Citizens Day at the Artesia Senior Center!
Celebrating with everyone was amazing. From fun activities, great food, and prizes to meaningful connections with vendors and health care professionals in our community. The Mayor, local senators, and the amazing Artesia Senior Center staff made the event truly special. Thank you for hosting such a fantastic day. We can’t wait to be back again.

From bouncy houses to other fun water activities, the energy was high, and so was our commitment to serving our community. Even in the heat, we had fun connecting, sharing wellness tips, and supporting the seniors we care so deeply about.

What an amazing Women’s Conference the Eddy County Health Council put on this weekend. TLC was truly honored to be a part of it. The turnout was fantastic, and the female health providers delivered incredibly informative, empowering sessions — the kind of vital knowledge that strengthens our community and supports women’s wellness at every stage.
We’re grateful for the opportunity to participate and connect, and we look forward to being there again next year — inspired, engaged, and ready to be empowered.
