Spirituality is the journey from the personal to the universal. ✨
Here’s a clip from my Masters of Wisdom & Meditation Teacher Training, where we were discussing what spirituality means, and also how that translates into our personal lives.
The ancient wisdom traditions point us toward four powerful practices: kindness, compassion, forgiveness, and love.
But these qualities aren’t meant to begin “out there.” They are not an intellectual construct. They are something embodied, and something that begins within.
Before we can authentically offer compassion to another, we must learn to be compassionate with ourselves. Before we can truly forgive someone else, we must soften into forgiveness for our own mistakes. Before we can share love freely, we must recognize the love that already lives within us.
This weekend, ask yourself the following questions:
🤍 How can I be a little kinder to myself today?
🤍 How can I meet this moment with more compassion?
🤍 What am I ready to forgive?
🤍 How can I bring more love into this experience?
And something really powerful happens when we begin to practice this - we discover that life feels lighter when we’re gentler with ourselves. We breathe easier, suffer a little bit less, and we experience more joy.
How can you be kinder to yourself today? Tell me about it below! 👇
