My first time at PAC VET — and what an experience. 🐾
We brought PAWS to Heal Together’s Acupuncture Healing Circle to the 2026 annual conference!
3 zero-gravity chairs, warm blankets, and a quiet corner of Booth 212 to the people who spend their days caring for animals and rarely get cared for themselves. Vets, Techs, and support staff — settling in, letting the nervous system have a 20 min healing break.

This is Acupuncture Healing Circles: community-style, fully clothed, you choose the focus — Calm · Sleep · Energy · Mobility · Heart, for the hard days.
The response was amazing! 24 people treated day 1 and 33 treated day 2

And so much interest in the PAWS pilot offer for veterinary teams — a low-footprint way to bring this kind of care right into the clinic.

2026 lunches time and after hours treatments and 2027 we solve the space pain point with our own mobile acupuncture unit!

Grief is a natural response to love. A testament to love. A way for the heart to continue to honor what matters. ♥️

Over the last few years, I’ve had so many conversations with people carrying the weight of deep grief connected to animals — veterinary professionals, caregivers, rescue workers, sanctuary teams, pet parents, and animal lovers.

So much of that grief is carried quietly and alone.

This May, I’m beginning to offer monthly Community Grief Tending Rituals through PAWS to Heal Together.

These are gentle 90-minute virtual spaces to slow down, regulate, reflect, honor love and loss, and be together in community.

This first ritual is created in honor of my bestest boy Nero, and for all who grieve the animals they have lost (or fear will soon). 🖤

Nero was, and continues to be, one of my greatest teachers of love, presence, devotion, and grief. His life, and his loss, continue to shape the heart of my work. ❤️‍🩹

Together, we’ll make space for what’s tender and possibly unmetabolized and honor the bonds that continue beyond physical form.

You might like to have a candle, a journal and pen, a picture of the animal you’re honoring, or an object that reminds you of them.

There will be space to share, but sharing is never required. Your simple presence is full participation.

The beginning of this new year 🥳asked me to slooooow down.

So I came back to Carmel 🌊 a place Schatzi and I have been returning to for over a decade.

Long walks, quiet chai mornings ☕️and cozy afternoon fires. Time to study as I continue learning and teaching animal holistic medicine (acupuncture, acupressure, co-regulation, cross-species somatic work) and space to listen for what wants to be created next.

As Schatzi enters her senior years, I feel how precious our time is 🧡 and how much of my work, my teaching, and PAWS to Heal Together has been shaped by simply paying attention to the animals who walk beside me. 🐾

This retreat isn’t about pushing or producing. It’s about presence and gratitude. 🙏 (took me a full day to figure that out!) I am planning from the heart and letting 2026 take shape slowly, honestly, and in a way that honors our collective nervous systems (lots of walks and naps).

I’m deeply aware of how lucky I am,
and I don’t take a single moment of this for granted. 🤍

May YOUR new year unfold in EXACTLY the way you need it to…whether that means rest or momentum, quiet or movement, gentleness or bold steps forward.
