Hearing voices does not automatically mean schizophrenia or psychosis, but it also should not be dismissed as “just PANS or PANDAS.”

Auditory or visual hallucinations warrant a thoughtful, thorough evaluation to understand exactly what the child is experiencing and rule out other neurological causes.

Steroids are not intended to be a long-term solution, especially for children.

Repeated or prolonged use can affect adrenal function, bone development, growth, and more. Steroid treatment should always be carefully timed, monitored, and guided by your child’s physician.

IVIG can be life-changing for the right child.

But it’s just one piece of the puzzle.

True recovery often means addressing immune dysfunction, infections, nervous system regulation, and the behaviors that can become ingrained during illness.

The goal isn’t just symptom management. It’s helping children get their lives back.

Tell us in the comments- was IVIG part of your healing journey? 👇

The average PANS/PANDAS patient can go years before receiving a diagnosis.

If that’s your family, don’t lose hope.

Recovery isn’t just about treating infections. It’s about addressing immune dysfunction, environmental triggers, nervous system health, and giving children the tools they need to heal.

A comprehensive approach changes everything.

Teeth grinding and brain inflammation may not seem connected, but sleep could be the missing link.

Brain inflammation can disrupt normal sleep architecture, and teeth grinding is often associated with poor-quality or disrupted sleep.

When symptoms don’t seem to make sense, it’s worth looking deeper.

Sometimes the symptom you’re seeing isn’t the root issue.

In PANS and PANDAS, constipation, urinary frequency, accidents, or even retention can all be part of a bigger nervous system picture.

When the body is stuck in fight-or-flight, digestion can slow down, and that can create a ripple effect throughout the body.

It’s one more reminder that these children need to be looked at as a whole, not one symptom at a time.

Have you noticed bladder or bowel changes during your child’s flares?
