A lip flip uses a very small amount of Botox/Dysport placed around the upper lip to relax portions of the orbicularis oris.

Normally, this muscle can pull the upper lip inward and under, particularly when smiling. Relaxing it slightly allows the upper lip to roll outward, making more of the pink lip visible.
