The Prevention Council of Putnam, Inc. (PCoP) was founded in 1985. PCoP is certified by the New York State

The Council was established to meet the growing need for Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drug (ATOD) prevention and education services in Putnam County. The Prevention Council offers several programs:
Drug Free Communities (Putnam County Communities That Care Coalition)
Information and Referral Services
Problem Gambling Prevention
Simulated Impaired Driving Experience (SIDNE)
Sobriety Medallions
Teen Intervene
Victim Impact Panel
