THE OLD PLAYBOOK: Try harder.
So you did.
You changed what you ate.
You exercised more.
You researched your symptoms.
You tried the supplements.
You went to the appointments.
Maybe you were even told everything looked “normal.”
But you still don't feel like yourself.
After more than two decades in healthcare, I've learned something:
Sometimes the most important thing we can do isn't immediately add something else.
It's stop and ask: What changed?
When did you start feeling different?
What was happening when it began?
What have you already tried?
What helped?
What didn't?
And what might we be overlooking?
I've spent years working in traditional medicine, and I'm also trained in functional medicine.
I value both.
Traditional medicine is incredibly important. There are times we need medications, imaging, procedures, specialists and acute medical care.
Functional medicine gives me another lens.
It allows me to spend time looking at your story, your symptoms, your daily life and the foundations of your health, while asking how the pieces may fit together.
For me, it isn't one or the other.
It's the best of both worlds.
And sometimes what you've been missing isn't another thing to try.
It's a healthcare provider willing to listen, take a fresh look at the whole picture, and help you decide what actually deserves attention.
Sometimes the answer is simple.
Sometimes we need to dig deeper.
But we start with you.
The old playbook said:
“Try harder.”
The new playbook asks:
“What changed?”
You don't have to figure out your health by yourself before you come see me.
Bring me your story. I'll listen. We'll start connecting the dots together.
