As we continue to celebrate our CNAs, we’d like to introduce Judy! Judy has been a CNA for 25 years and says “it’s the most rewarding and fulfilling job there is. I enjoy providing care to my residents. They become so much more than 'residents' to me. They become a part of my family. Which makes my job seem less like work, and more like life. (Minus all the charting and paperwork, of course). I enjoy smiling, laughing and joking with my residents while helping them get ready for their day. I really couldn't imagine doing anything else.”

In honor of our CNA appreciation week, please join me in recognizing Brittany Burton (left) and Auna Snodgrass (right). Here’s what they have to say about their role as CNAs.

Brittany shares, "I like being able to help people and being a part of their life and knowing that I’ve made an impact during a time of need when some of them don’t have anyone else to be there for them. I’ve tried to do other things in the past and I’ve always went back to the medical field. I’ve been a CNA for 13 years."

Auna reflects, "I became a CNA because I helped my mom for years taking care of my dad and after he passed away I missed taking care of people."

We are thankful we get to call them part of our team!

As We Celebrate Certified Nursing Assistant Week, We Are Delighted to Introduce Cheyanne Bailey, Tammy Mahon, and Marlys Brown, Three Devoted Professionals Who Excel in Their Field. Here, They Share Their Insights into the Rewards of Working as a CNA.

Cheyanne Bailey Expresses, 'I love being a CNA because it allows me to make a meaningful difference in people's lives every day. I enjoy helping patients with their daily needs, providing comfort, and offering support during difficult times. Being a CNA gives me the opportunity to build trusting relationships with patients and their families while showing compassion, patience, and respect. I take pride in knowing that my care can improve someone's quality of life and help them feel valued and cared for. The experience also helps me grow both personally and professionally, making each day rewarding and fulfilling.'

Tammy Mahon Notes, 'I have the opportunity to learn from my residents; what they like and don't like. Being part of their family, building relationships, sharing experiences, and being part of something special are the most rewarding parts of my job.'

Marlys Brown Reflects, 'February 4th will be 20 years for me as a CNA. I had helped with my mother, but started classes to get a job. My teacher repeatedly said, what if your residents were a relative? I have enjoyed getting to know people, and to reconnect with others. The work just comes with the territory.'

Meet our Nurses and hear their stories.

Meet Tonia Lamont, right, our Director of Health and Wellness and is an LPN. Tonia says “becoming a nurse has been a lifetime opportunity, to be a part of many lives. I have always hoped to bring comfort and hope to those in their time of need, to be a reason someone recovers and heals, is truly rewarding, for those I have been blessed to care for. One never knows the impression you may have on others, apparently, it has meant something to my daughter and granddaughter, who have also chosen to pursue Nursing, that means so very much to me.”

Meet Konnie Harrington, left, our skilled RN focused on Assessments and Service Plans. Regarding her nursing career, Konnie remarks, 'In 1982, I decided to switch to nursing, drawn by the profession's opportunities to help others and its varied specialties. The decision was spot on, and I'm still passionate about caring for people after more than 40 years, finding ways to assist them whenever needed. With this many years of experience, nursing is deeply ingrained in who I am.'
