Happy Pride Month 🌈

Over the years, Nordic House Spa has been a safe space for people navigating all kinds of care, including post-operative support after gender-affirming surgeries. It is work I do not take lightly.

Something I want more people to understand: gender-affirming care is not only for transgender individuals. It is for cancer patients reclaiming their bodies after treatment. It is for anyone working their way back to feeling like their own true self.

I am bisexual, and creating a practice where everyone feels genuinely welcome has always mattered to me personally.

Nutrition and lipedema is one of the most asked about topics in this community. And one of the most complicated.

At BLS2026 Siobhan Huggins shared her personal self management approach including nutrition strategies. It was a reminder that people living with lipedema are doing deep research into their own care and deserve to be heard.

There is no single diet that works for everyone. What the evidence consistently supports is reducing inflammation through food quality, sustainability, and approaches tailored to your individual body.

GLP-1 medications and lipedema. It is complicated.

Many lipedema patients are not responding through appetite suppression the way conventional obesity patients do. They are reporting decongestion, less pain, and reduced heaviness.

And many are seeing those benefits at much lower doses than standard protocols. Microdosing. A different approach for a different condition.

That is a different mechanism entirely. And it raises really interesting questions. 🔬

80% of lipedema patients showed significant psychological distress before their symptoms developed.

Not after. Before.

That does not mean lipedema is psychological. But it raises a question I could not stop thinking about. Could chronic stress-driven inflammation play a role in triggering lipedema in someone who is genetically predisposed?

I am not a doctor. Just a CLT and someone living with lipedema whose brain would not stop connecting dots. 🧠
