Imagine trying to read a sentence with random pieces missing. You might figure it out...or you might guess wrong. Either way, your brain is working overtime to fill in the blanks. And doing this interaction after interaction, day after day, is exhausting.

These simple strategies can help reduce the number of "missing pieces" that hard of hearing individuals have to work so hard to fill in:
🗣Get their attention before speaking.
🗣Face them when you talk.
🗣Slow down just a little.
🗣Don't cover your mouth.
🗣Repeat or rephrase instead of saying, "Never mind."
