For our newborn babies, we talk a lot about tongue ties in our office! 👅
When a tongue or lip tie release is necessary, we encourage “pre-habilitation” to insure optimal results. (A pediatric dentist can perform the release)
Dr. Haley can optimize head and neck structure and help remove interference to the tongue. If a release is performed on a structure that is not in normal alignment, the wound may heal in an abnormal position and the problem may resurface in the future.
Post-release, Dr. Haley can help to rehabilitate the head, spine and tongue.
This promotes:
◽️correct motor skill development of the tongue and spine
◽️encourages and supports correct wound healing
◽️helps the baby’s anatomy to accommodate the change created from the release
◽️helps with latching and feeding
By taking these steps, you will significantly decrease the chance of a revision and optimize the release that was just performed.
