🎓🍼 A big congratulations to this feeding therapy graduate! This sweet girl came to Speech Pathways struggling with bottle feeds, taking up to an hour to finish her bottle and is now knocking a bottle out in 30 minutes or less! What a champ! 💪🍼 We are so proud of all the hard work and progress! Way to go, little one! 🎉💕

⚠Have you or a loved one been positively impacted by the help of a Speech Pathologist (SLP)?! If so, we need your help!

As a SLP, private practice owner, mom of 3 little ones and a granddaughter of someone who struggled with a degenerative disease, I am very passionate about advocating for services to help our loved ones thrive when they need it the most, especially speech therapy services!

I wanted to share an update of what is going on in our Speech Language Pathology world that could directly and negatively impact how speech therapy services are provided in the future. Major reimbursement changes are set to take effect in 2027 that will significantly reduce how speech pathology services are valued and reimbursed. As SLPs, we are constantly advocating for our services and our worth. We have had reimbursement cuts in the past, however this one is quite large! How can inflation continue to rise, while our reimbursement rates continue to decline?! How can we help so many individuals, yet continually have to advocate for our worth?!

I think I can speak for a lot of SLPs when I say that we didn't become SLPs because of reimbursement; I personally became a SLP because I LOVE helping others gain and regain some of our most valued skills- communication and eating! However, there comes a time when these continued cuts start to reflect on our worth and the work we are so passionate about.

The SPEAKProject has been advocating for our profession and we have gathered and submitted data and numbers as well as letters and other advocacy efforts to fight for our worth! We now need YOUR help! If there is a SLP in your life that has made a positive impact on you, or a loved one, and you feel inclined to help us advocate, we urge you to click this link below.
