When it hasn't been so steamy and hot, we have been outside enjoying summer! If we do have to stay inside, Barb has been keeping our residents busy with many activities!
Crafts are always popular. They have made pop bottle flowers, wind chimes, sticker crafts and beach themed snow globes!
The balloon toss is always a favorite exercise and tending to our garden gets our residents outside also. We often bake cookies for our snacks and here they are mixing up butterscotch cookies!
Our garden is doing great! We will be harvesting our sweet corn patch in a week or so.
I have also posted our latest pictures of our new martin house progression.
Thank you to every organization who takes the time to spend time here at Journey.
RSVP comes out to visit with our residents, have dessert and do a craft. In the spring they helped our residents plant flowers from seeds. When they were ready, we planted them in one of our raised planters in our courtyard.
Our Librarian read Eddie the Goldfish and Echo. The Swan Lake Conservation Center came out and gave an educational presentation on ducks!
We always enjoy the hymn singers and dessert!
Thank you to Barb from the Carroll Historical Society for her fantastic history topics. This time it was the town of Templeton, Iowa.
Jasper the dog came out for pet therapy. Even though he is a big boy, he was so loving and friendly!
