Next up to celebrate National Assisted Living Week was today’s celebration all about the 1950s!!

We had a carhop diner lunch today with burgers, fries and chocolate milkshakes! The staff even joined in on the fun. Roller skates were recommended by the tenants but we didn’t want to lose any staff to injuries! 😜

We had a FULL HOUSE for today’s lunch, enjoying 50s music and good company. (See our video in the comments.)

Happy National Assisted Living Week!

Over the last several months, some of our tenants have been working on a very special project- hand making World Mission Rosaries. 📿

The Catholic Church in the United States will mark a historic and deeply symbolic moment this September, as Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen—long known as “God’s microphone”—is set to be beatified on September 24th in St. Louis, Missouri.

In 1951, Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen, then national director of the Society for the Propagation of the Faith (the Center for Mission’s parent organization), created the World Mission Rosary to help Catholics actively participate in their baptismal call to mission through prayer.

A nationwide initiative took place, crafting 75,000 handcrafted World Mission Rosaries to distribute to each person attending the upcoming beatification.

❤️💛🤍💙💚Our tenants were able to make and send 281 rosaries to be distributed.
