On Friday night, we hosted our Father’s Day special event. The theme was Boot Scootin’ BBQ. The outdoor buffet featured barbecue sandwiches (pork or chicken), macaroni and cheese, baked beans, slaw, and chips. For dessert, there was banana pudding or fresh watermelon slices. Residents could choose to sit inside or outside. Those who sat outside also enjoyed ladder golf, co****le, and the Powers Trio, minus one.

We've launched a new exercise class - a resident-led stretch and tone session. The instructor, Bill, has a physical education degree and spent nearly twenty years teaching physical fitness classes to senior adults at a senior center in Roanoke, Alabama. Now, he brings his knowledge and experience to The Birches. His class takes place every Friday at 3 pm.

Celebrating National Donut Day on June 5! We marked the occasion with a trip to a wonderful local donut shop, Carol 168 Donuts. This family-owned store offers a wide variety of delicious, freshly baked donuts.

To celebrate summer and stay cool, we went out to AGW Ice Cream in Carrollton. With over 65 yummy ice cream flavors and six silly shakes, it was an adventure full of sweet surprises!
