🌊💚 It’s okay to take a break.

Today is National Relaxation Day, and we’re taking this as a reminder that rest is not something we have to earn. Sometimes, taking care of ourselves means slowing down, stepping away, taking a deep breath, and simply allowing ourselves a moment to breathe.

Whether you spend the day by the water, listening to music, taking a walk, spending time with people you love, or simply sitting quietly for a few minutes—give yourself permission to pause.

Recovery and mental wellness aren’t just about pushing forward. They’re also about recognizing when we need to rest. 💚

So today, remember: you don’t always have to keep going. It’s okay to take a break.

Happy National Relaxation Day from Carroll County Mental Health Advocates & The Recovery Spot of West Georgia! 💚🌿

💜 WE WANT YOUR VOICE! 💜

Hey friends in recovery, seeking recovery, and supporting a loved one on their recovery journey — we want to hear from YOU!

CMHA and The Recovery Spot of West Georgia is conducting a Community Recovery Needs Survey to better understand the needs, barriers, and gaps in recovery and behavioral health resources across our community.

Your feedback can help us:
✨ Identify gaps in services and resources
✨ Better understand the barriers people experience
✨ Improve the services and support we provide
✨ Advocate for resources that our community actually needs

📣 HELP US REACH 100 RESPONSES!

Once we reach 100 completed surveys, we’ll draw ONE winner from those who entered the prize drawing! 🎁

The survey is short, and your participation is completely voluntary. Your responses are anonymous unless you choose to provide your contact information for the drawing or to stay connected with CMHA and The Recovery Spot.

📱 Scan the QR code or use the link below to take the survey!

💜 Meet Ruben Alvizures, Jr.! 💜

🇪🇸 ¿Hablas español? ¡Desplázate hacia abajo para leer la traducción en español!

Ruben is a person in long-term recovery, celebrating 31 years of recovery since May 28, 1995. Originally from Guatemala, Ruben served in the U.S. Air Force before beginning his recovery journey in Germany, where he found AA and NA and began building the foundation of his recovery.

Today, Ruben is a Peer Specialist who believes strongly in all pathways to recovery. As a fluent Spanish speaker whose first language is Spanish, Ruben is able to connect with and support Spanish-speaking individuals in our community.

His passion is walking alongside others, meeting people where they are, and using his lived experience to inspire hope and encourage others on their own recovery journey.

Outside of his work in recovery, Ruben is a proud husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He enjoys spirituality, meditation, exercise, and music—and has been a DJ and entertainer for more than 25 years! 🎶

We are so grateful to have Ruben as part of The Recovery Spot family and for the experience, compassion, and hope he brings to our community every day. 💜

“The only real mistake is the one from which we learned nothing.” — Henry Ford

Join us in welcoming and celebrating Ruben! 👋💜

💜 ¡Conozcan a Ruben Alvizures, Jr.! 💜
