This year marks 25 years since 9/11. In remembrance of this day, our team will join the community on Saturday, September 12, at the National Medal of Honor Museum for the 2026 Dallas-Fort Worth 9/11 Heroes Run.

Hosted by the Travis Manion Foundation, the Heroes Run welcomes runners, ruckers and walkers of all ages and fitness levels to commemorate the 25th anniversary of 9/11 and honor the heroes who stepped up to serve that day and in the wars that followed.

Our team will have a table at the event. Stop by and say hello, and learn more about the mental health services we provide to the local military community.

Sometimes the hardest conversation is the one that matters the most. Veteran su***de remains a critical public health issue, with the veteran su***de rate 60% higher than the national average. Fi****ms also remain the most common method of su***de among veterans.

This su***de prevention month, the Cohen Clinic at Metrocare encourages everyone to and start a conversation that can be lifesaving. Whether it's checking-in with a loved one, asking about secure firearm storage, or reaching out if you need help, Ask Anyway reminds us that we don't have to have all the answers.

Sometimes, just showing up and asking the question can be an important first step toward safety, connection, and support.

We have two upcoming group therapy options in September!

▶️ Starting this Friday, September 4: Anger Management
Participants will learn to recognize how and when anger arises and develop strategies to manage it. This group meets at noon via telehealth.

▶️ Starting September 15: PTSD & Relationships
Veterans and their support systems can explore the challenges trauma can create around communication and connection. This group meets Tuesdays from 6–7:30 p.m. via telehealth.

Calling all fishing enthusiasts! 🎣

On Saturday, September 26, 2026, Dallas Legacy Mission, Inc. and community partners are hosting a Veteran Fishing Trip at Cedar Hill State Park, 1570 West FM 1382, Cedar Hill, TX, 75104 from 10am-2pm with free lunch and refreshments provided to registered attendees.

Bring your fishing pole, sunscreen, sunglasses, and come enjoy a morning outdoors with fellow veterans, families, and community partners.

Per Cedar Hill State Park rules, no alcohol is allowed for day visits.

Registration is now open for Anger Management Group Therapy.

Starting September 4, this group will meet via telehealth on Fridays at noon.

The group is designed for those who may get angry often or have difficulty managing their behavior and communicating effectively when they’re angry. Participants will learn cognitive and behavioral strategies to recognize and manage anger before it escalates.
