THEME OF THE WEEK: PROTECTION & GROUNDING

We’re bringing back our Theme of the Week every Wednesday at Wiley’s Wellness Sanctuary, and this week feels like the perfect place to begin: PROTECTION & GROUNDING.

Our crystal of the week is Black Spinel, a powerful protective stone traditionally associated with energetic shielding, strength, resilience, and grounding. When life feels noisy, heavy, or overwhelming, Black Spinel is a beautiful reminder to come back into your own energy, strengthen your boundaries, and stay rooted in yourself.

Our essential oil of the week is doTERRA Frankincense, one of my absolute favorites. Frankincense has been treasured for centuries in spiritual and ceremonial practices and has a deeply grounding, centering aroma. Paired with Black Spinel, it creates a beautiful ritual: protect your energy, quiet the outside noise, ground into the present moment, and reconnect with what matters.

A week ago, my mom and dad would have celebrated 48 years of marriage.

I’ve been thinking about that number a lot. Forty-eight years of building a life together. Forty-eight years of memories, challenges, laughter, family, love, and all of the ordinary moments in between that ultimately become the pieces of a lifetime.

I admired my parents more than I could ever adequately put into words. They were such an important part of who I was growing up, and they remain an enormous part of who I am today. I watched them. I learned a lot from them. What to do. And a lot of what not to do! I looked up to them. And I was incredibly proud to be their daughter.

As I’ve gotten older, I’ve come to understand even more deeply how much of them lives within me—the things they taught me, the values they gave me, the way they loved, and even the little pieces of them that show up in me when I least expect it.

No matter what they stayed authentic to themselves!

Grief is strange because the people we love can be gone, yet our relationship with them doesn’t simply disappear. Love continues. Admiration continues. Their influence continues. Sometimes you miss them in the biggest moments, and sometimes it’s a date on the calendar that suddenly reminds you of an entire lifetime.

So, a week late, I’m honoring what would have been 48 years for my mom and dad—and sharing a few of my favorite pictures of two people I admired tremendously and will love for the rest of my life.

Happy Anniversary, Mom and Dad. I hope somewhere, somehow, you’re celebrating together with Wiley!🤍

Happy Wednesday! Hoping someone pets you gently today! ☺️☀️♥️🐾

There is something incredibly special about watching Ocho the Healer (one of four of our dogs) with little Rumi.

Ocho has always had such a gentle, intuitive energy, and now he’s taken on another role—loving on his little brother. Watching him reach over and softly pet Rumi is one of those moments that makes your heart melt.

Rumi was born on Wiley’s birthday, and from the moment he came into our lives, he has felt like another little piece of magic woven into the story of Wiley’s Wellness Sanctuary. And Ocho seems to understand that Rumi is someone pretty special, too.

Animals communicate, comfort, teach, and love in ways that don’t require words. Sometimes the sweetest healing happens with a paw, a quiet touch, and simply being beside someone.

Ocho the Healer & Rumi… I have a feeling these two are going to have a very special story together. 💜
