Shawnee Health offers integrated primary medical, dental, behavioral, and social services.

Shawnee Health is a federally qualified health center and community-based health and human services organization serving Southern Illinois through an integrated network of medical, dental, behavioral health, pharmacy, and social services programs. For over 50 years, Shawnee Health has worked to improve the health and well-being of individuals and families across the region. Shawnee Health has expanded, from it's beginnings of providing care to migrant and seasonal farmworkers, to offer comprehensive services including family medicine, pediatrics, internal medicine, OB/GYN care, same-day care, LGBTQ+ care, addiction treatment, nutrition services, pharmacy services, general and pediatric dentistry, behavioral health treatment and counseling, school-based health centers, and care coordination programs. Guided by our mission to advance health equity and strengthen our communities, Shawnee Health delivers accessible, healthcare through collaborations, innovation and community partnerships throughout all of Southern Illinois.

Shawnee Alliance's Caregiver Program has been awarded Illinois' 2026 Governor's Engaging Aging Award! Through our social programs like the SAVVY Caregiver Program, the team works to ensure caregivers and families across southern Illinois have access to the support, resources, and guidance they deserve.

Nominated by the Egyptian Area Agency on Aging, Inc. and selected by the Illinois Department on Aging, this award is a direct testament to the team's dedication and excellence. We are incredibly proud of everything they do for the communities we serve.

We are proud to announce that Shawnee Health's Board of Directors has named Jeffrey D. Cooper Chief Executive Officer.

Cooper brings more than 30 years of service to the organization, including several years as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). His longstanding commitment to Shawnee Health's mission and the communities of southern Illinois will guide his work in supporting employees, strengthening partnerships, and expanding exceptional care throughout the region.
