Constitution Day 🇺🇸

Today, we recognize Constitution Day and the signing of the United States Constitution on September 17, 1787.

For more than two centuries, the Constitution has served as the foundation of our nation, protecting the rights and freedoms Americans hold dear.

As Blue Star Mothers, this day carries special meaning. We know that behind those freedoms are generations of brave men and women who have raised their right hand and sworn an oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States.

Today, we give thanks for our Constitution and for every service member and veteran who has answered the call to defend our nation and the freedoms it represents.

💙 May we never take those freedoms, or those who defend them, for granted.

UPDATE: Due to the predicted heat, event organizers have made the decision to change the date of the parade. The new date is Saturday, October 3, 2026. It is still set to start at 10am. ( update as of 09/08/2026)

The 22nd annual Veterans On Parade is on Saturday, September 12, 2026 starting at 10am 🇺🇸

The parade begins at Marion Junior High School, rolls east on Main Street ending at Washington Elementary School. Following the conclusion of the parade, there will be a short ceremony on Tower Square Plaza.

Patriotic festivities will continue with the Freedom Sings USA concert, made possible by Heroes United, at 6pm. All are invited to this free event and are encouraged to bring lawn chairs 🎶
