You know those therapists who see “new partnership intake” on their schedule and actually get their life?

Hi. We’re looking for one of you. 👋

Horizons Therapy for Liberation is recruiting for our small clinical team in late 2026 to early 2027, and this time we have a very specific person in mind: a therapist who really, genuinely likes relationship therapy.

Not “sure, I can take a couple.”

More “ohhhh, there are three different attachment strategies happening in this argument and I would like to know everything.”

We’re especially interested in clinicians who want to build a niche working with LGBTQIA2S+ relationships — including q***r and trans partnerships, polyamory/ENM, mixed-neurotype relationships, intimacy, attachment, communication, relational trauma, and the general experience of trying to love another human while both of you have nervous systems.

🌈 Q***r-owned + operated group practice
🏠 Fully remote anywhere in NC or hybrid
🧠 Full-time clinical caseload (18–22 sessions/week)
💰 70/30 split for independently licensed clinicians
🎓 65/35 + board-approved supervision for LCMHCAs
💬 Individual mentorship + team consultation
📋 Billing, credentialing + referral support handled
🚫 No non-compete or non-solicitation clauses

We’re looking for an LMFT, LCMHC, LCSW, or associate-level clinician with experience serving LGBTQIA2S+ clients, a solid foundation in relationship therapy, and a desire to make this work a meaningful part of their clinical identity.

Basically:
If your favorite therapy happens when there are two people on the couch, we should probably talk.

✨ Applications are open for our upcoming late 2026/early 2027 therapist position.

Some therapists tolerate couples work. We are not looking for those therapists. 😂

We’re looking for the clinician who sees “couples intake” on their schedule and thinks: yesssssss.

🌈 Horizons Therapy for Liberation is hiring one relationship-specialized therapist to join our small, q***r-owned + operated clinical team in 2027.

We’re especially interested in someone who wants relationship therapy to be a meaningful part of their clinical identity, working with LGBTQIA2S+ partnerships, q***r + trans couples, polyamory/ENM, mixed-neurotype relationships, attachment, intimacy, conflict, communication, relational trauma, and repair.

The practical stuff:
✨ Remote anywhere in NC
✨ Full-time clinical caseload (18–22 sessions/week)
✨ 1099 contractor position
✨ 70/30 split for independently licensed clinicians
✨ 65/35 + board-approved supervision for LCMHCAs
✨ Billing, credentialing + referral support
✨ Individual mentorship + team consultation
✨ No non-compete or non-solicitation clauses

Applicants should hold an active NC license (LMFT, LCMHC, LCSW, or eligible associate equivalent), have experience working with LGBTQIA2S+ clients, and have a solid foundation in relationship therapy.

We don’t just want someone willing to see couples.

We want someone who wants to get really, really good at this work, and be at a practice that gets excited about helping them do it.

If your favorite therapy happens when there are two people on the couch, and everyone in the room exists outside of norms, we should probably talk. 🌈

If you’re used to being the person who takes care of everyone else, therapy can be one place where you get to take up some space, too. 🌿

No pressure to have the right words. No expectation that you have everything figured out. No need to be “good” at therapy.

Lindsey Reis, LCMHCA, LCAS believes therapy can be a soft landing: a place to better understand yourself, explore what you need, and practice putting some of that care back toward yourself.

Lindsey works with LGBTQIA+ teens and adults (14+) navigating anxiety, trauma, neurodivergence, substance use, identity, and the general overwhelm of being a person in the world.

✨ Lindsey is currently accepting new clients at Horizons Therapy for Liberation.

We all tell ourselves stories about who we are.

“I’m lazy.”
“I’m too sensitive.”
“I’m awkward.”
“I’m just bad at relationships.”

Sometimes those stories fit. And sometimes they’re labels we’ve given ourselves to explain patterns that make a lot more sense when we consider our experiences, our nervous system, or the environment we’ve had to adapt to.

Understanding yourself isn’t about making excuses.

It’s about replacing shame with curiosity.

What a powerful and intimate night we had last night with the cast and crew of COMMITTED: the musical ❤️ So grateful this story is being told right here in our community, and for the willingness to open our hearts to the hard truths of what happens when we don’t fit neatly into a system that seeks to contain us rather than to fully see us. Laughing and crying is the prescription, “Committed” is the treatment.

If you haven’t got tickets to this show yet, you still have time!

Therapist recommend and approved. 👌🏻

Meet Emmy. 👋

The first therapist you meet shouldn’t be a stranger.

That’s why we wanted to introduce the facilitator behind our upcoming Neurodivergent + Q***r DBT Skills Group.

Over eight weeks, Emmy will help participants build practical skills for navigating big emotions, reducing burnout, improving relationships, and working with their brains instead of against them - all in a space where they don’t have to explain or defend who they are.

If you’ve been wondering whether this group might be a good fit, we hope this introduction gives you a glimpse of the warm, welcoming environment Emmy is creating.

🌿 Enrollment is now open for Fall 2026.
💻 Virtual across North Carolina for folks ages 18-25.
