A Little Note, PLLC ADHD shows up in different ways and changes as your child grows. A Little Note grows with them. 🌱

This past Sunday at 8:30pm, we had our first…”Oh no! I forgot this was due tomorrow!”

It can be hard not to become frustrated in the moment, but shifting from criticism to support can turn a stressful moment into an opportunity to build confidence rather than shame.

And though it’s important to pull back support when building independence and teaching new skills, it doesn’t mean we can’t step back in. So in our house this week, “I do, we do, you do” became “we do again.”

As the excitement and back to school momentum wears off, remember to revisit those systems and see where a little more support may still be needed.

Not sure which systems your child needs?
This is exactly why I don’t just look at whether a child has ADHD, but also how executive functioning shows up in their daily life, along with their learning preferences, and interests. Together we build personalized systems based on their unique strengths and struggles, so we can start working with their brain instead of against it.

This ended up being a bit too accurate!😅 They just wouldn’t go away!

I’ll keep practicing 🙃

Knowing your daughter has ADHD is one thing. Knowing how to support her, advocate for her, and help her understand and accept herself is another.

Unmasked offers a track for you and for your daughter, and it overlaps throughout the program. It gives you both space to learn, reflect, and grow, while connecting with each other and other families like yours.

Cohorts are separated by age so material is developmentally appropriate. The cohort in September is for girls 13 years and older. Cohorts are kept intentionally small to foster connection and active participation.

Notes Between Chapters is A Little Note’s book club for anyone that supports kids with ADHD. It’s a place to connect with others that have the same questions.

And because life with kids doesn’t always leave time for reading, we’re just taking it one chapter at a time.

And you certainly don’t have to finish every chapter to be part of the discussion…

Remember that just because we’re capable of something, doesn’t mean we always have the capacity for it…so take what you need!😊

Read with us, or at your own pace, or save this to join in when you can!📌

Notes Between Chapters is free to join and you can find us using the link in bio🔗 and on Fable! 📖

Hope to see you there!📚🗓️

ADHD in girls can be complicated.

It presents differently and is more likely to be hidden behind good grades, people-pleasing, perfectionism, big emotions, or just trying really hard to keep it all together. These are things that can be hard to recognize from the outside. And it’s part of the reason why ADHD in girls has been missed for so long.

As research shifts to cover these gaps, many clinicians, educators, and families are still unaware of key differences in how ADHD presents in girls. That’s where A Little Note comes in.

I designed the Unmasked program to help you better understand ADHD in girls and more specifically, how ADHD presents in your daughter, with the goal of protecting her self-esteem and improving long-term outcomes, while helping you feel more confident in how to support, understand, and advocate for her.

🗓️We start in just 2 weeks, and there are still spots available. Cohorts are intentionally kept small to foster connection and active participation.

School is back, routines are shifting, and I know your family’s calendar is already full!

That’s why A Little Note offers afternoon, evening, and weekend appointments every week.

Because getting the care your child needs shouldn’t mean:
→ Taking time off work
→ Pulling your child out of school
→ Rearranging your entire day

My goal is to make ADHD care fit into your family’s life…not add more stress to it.

If you don’t see a time that works for your family, just reach out. I’ll do my best to find a time that does.

Research has shown that girls develop compensatory mechanisms more often than boys, which include things like masking their symptoms, overcompensating, and internalizing their struggle  → which may lead to anxiety, depression, perfectionism, people pleasing, and low self-esteem.

So watch for the struggle, for the pretty systems that fall apart, for the girl that’s exhausted and overwhelmed in the evenings…

And I had to grab a few “supplies” for myself when we went back to school shopping…old habits die hard I guess…or maybe there’s always that hope with ADHD…that this will be the year life stops being so hard, and we can just…function.

Anyway, I’m pretty sure this new notebook I got is the key to it all
