Our community was filled with extra smiles, wagging tails, and lots of love during our Dog Days of Summer event! Our wonderful therapy dogs came to visit with our residents, bringing comfort, companionship, and plenty of joy.
There’s something truly special about the unconditional love of a furry friend. ❤️🐶 We’re so grateful to our therapy dog friends for making the day unforgettable!

We’re in the final week of our Pet Campaign, and we need your help to finish strong! Donations will help bring comfort, nourishment, and joy to animals waiting for their forever homes. Every item, no matter the size, makes a meaningful difference. Let’s come together as a community one last time to show our support for pets in need. Thank you to the residents and their families for your generosity and also to our referral partners that have donated. Walt’s house is almost full! Bringing generations together, one smile at a time! 🌾❤️ Our Intergenerational, “Fun on the Farm” Camp, was filled with unforgettable memories! Residents, families, and children enjoyed tractor rides, a petting zoo, a farm-themed bounce house, delicious food, and hands-on activity stations. Our Senior Pet Spotlight this week features our furry friend named ZOE 🐾
Zoe is a sweet senior with plenty of swagger and an even bigger heart. This low-energy lady is potty trained, knows "sit," and would much rather climb into your lap for scritches than chase a tennis ball. She loves to stay connected with her person, checking in often with wonderful eye contact and happily prancing over when called. While she preferred an es**rt to explore the far end of the play yard, she showed no reactivity to anything around her. In playgroups, Zoe blossomed, tap dancing around the yard to impress her new canine friend and eagerly making companions. She's proof that it's never too late to make new friends.

Yesterday, we had a wonderful time hosting our Pup Cup Drive Thru! Community members stopped by with donations to support our ongoing Pet Campaign, and in return, their four-legged friends enjoyed a delicious pup cup. It was a fun afternoon filled with wagging tails, smiling faces, and generosity—all helping us make a difference for senior pets in need. Thank you to everyone who donated! 🐾💚

Bonnie enjoyed her adventure to the New Hope Valley Train Station. Growing up on a farm, Bonnie is a country girl at heart and loves the outdoors. Thanks to New Hope Valley Trains, Bonnie got to enjoy a country scenic ride with her family by her side. Our Senior Pet Spotlight this week features our furry friend Old Feller!
Old Feller is ready to be your new sidekick. This charming boy gets excited to head outside and has impeccable manners-he's potty trained, knows "sit," walks beautifully on leash, and keeps all four paws on the ground. He's a little aloof at first, but once he realizes you're the source of snacks and fun, he's all in. Speaking of fun, give him a big plastic ball and watch his Dancing with the Stars-worthy moonwalking moves! His favorite things are ball time and treats, and he's happily working on filling out his slim frame.
He is available at Wake County Animal Shelter and Waltonwood will cover the cost of adoption! Let’s help the furry friend find her furever home.

🐾❤️ There are a lot of ways to make a difference… and today, our residents chose one that’s full of love.

This afternoon, they rolled up their sleeves and spent time making homemade dog treats for our Pet Campaign. Soon, these treats will be delivered to our local animal shelter, where they’ll bring a little extra joy to dogs waiting for their forever homes.

Kindness doesn’t have an age limit, and giving back is something our residents do best. We couldn’t be more proud of the compassion, laughter, and love they put into every single treat.

Who else thinks shelter dogs deserve a few extra treats? 🐶💙

💗 Happy 101st Birthday, Ruth! 💗

Today we celebrated Ruth's incredible milestone with a pink-themed party, honoring her favorite color. Surrounded by her daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, we enjoyed cake, ice cream, music from the 1920s, and heartfelt stories that filled the room with laughter and love.

A beautiful day celebrating an even more beautiful life. Happy 101st Birthday, Ruth! 🎂🎉💕
