We were deeply saddened to learn that Gloria Steinem passed away on September 2nd. Described by the New York Times as the "personification of the Feminist Movement", Steinem dedicated her life as a fearless fighter for women's freedom and rights. She was an outspoken leader for abortion access and reproductive health care for women across the world. She will be deeply missed and her legacy will continue to inspire millions.

Dolly was an inspiration to millions and was the true embodiment of grace, humor and kindness. As well as being an incredible musician, Dolly's philanthropy was truly a gift to the world. Throughout her career she gave hundreds of millions to social causes, however her greatest cause was education. The Dollywood Foundation was founded in 1988 and focuses on helping students succeed. Her imagination library sends children nationwide free books, sending around one million books each year. She was a fearless fighter for safe, accessible healthcare, and donated millions to disaster relief.

In a time so divisive and polarizing, it's felt rare to have someone universally beloved. We will continue to honor her legacy and spirit by working towards a better future and continuing to stand up for bodily autonomy and fighting for women's right to health care.

Dr. Tiller was my boss and mentor who taught me so much. I had the pleasure of working with him for 8 years; he was an incredible person who helped change the lives of thousands upon thousands of women around the globe. He was a fearless defender of women’s decision-making ability, and he understood that people always know what is best for themselves and their families.

He was a woman educated physician and proud of that fact.

His legacy guides the work we are doing at Wellspring Health Access, which I founded with the understanding that everyone deserves bodily autonomy regardless of circumstance or location.

Dr. Tiller’s death was a tragedy for both access to reproductive health care as well as the loss of a remarkable man who paved the way for so many, whether they were his patients or his colleagues.

Today, though, I want to take a moment to celebrate his life and all that he contributed to this world, his patients and his colleagues.
