There’s a lot that happens between “I think I want to go to medical school” and actually opening a medical practice.

Believe it or not, this was just a snippet of what it took to get here.

A lot of work. A lot of school. A lot of random family moments at the TCOM library. A lot of figuring things out as we went.

Dr Maples has always been incredibly disciplined about the things that matter to him. He doesn’t need to be the loudest person in the room or take shortcuts to get where he is going. He puts his head down, does the work and keeps moving forward.

And while this may have started as his journey into medicine, it was never just his. Dr Maples and Megan were married with 3 (and a half) kids when he started at TCOM, so the boys have basically grown up with medical school, residency and now Still Point as part of the family schedule.

It has never been easy, and it definitely wasn’t quick, but piece by piece it all came together.

We are still building, still learning and still very proud of what we have built. 💙

🎉 Still Point Osteopathic Care turns 3!! 🎉

Three years ago we opened our doors with a pretty simple goal: to offer thoughtful, hands-on care that looks beyond the obvious and takes the time to understand the whole picture.

Since then, we have had the privilege of caring for so many incredible patients, learning along the way, growing our practice and building something we are really proud of.

Three years down, plenty more to come. 💙

A little Still Point word search 👀

These aren’t just words we picked because the sound good. They’re qualities we believe should be part of the prince when you’re receiving care.

How you’re treated matters just as much as what’s being treated.

“You’re my last shot.” “I’ve tried literally everything else.” “I just figured I was going to have to live with this.”

We hear versions of these words from patients more often than you might think.

Sometimes they find us through a Google search. Sometimes it’s an ad they happen to see. And sometimes another patient simply says, “You should go see Dr. Maples.”

And then something changes.

They start moving differently and understand their body a little better. The thing they had quietly learned to work around doesn’t have to take up quite so much space in their life.

You don’t have to assume pain is just something you have to live with. If you’ve been looking for another place to start, give us a call.

Pain has a way of making us focus on one spot. Your body doesn’t work in isolated parts though.

When something isn’t moving or functioning well, other areas can pick up the slack, and eventually, that’s where you may start feeling it.

That’s one reason we take a little more time to look at the bigger picture. Sometimes the most helpful place to start isn’t where the pain is, but it’s understanding what’s contributing to the pain.

If you’ve been treating the same spot over and over without getting results, it is worth looking at the whole picture.

Your pain is telling you something. Let’s figure it out.

If you’ve been managing the same ache, pain or limitation for a while, it may be time to look beyond where it hurts.

At Still Point Osteopathic Care, we take the time to understand what’s contributing to the problem, not just chase the symptoms. Through hands-on osteopathic manipulation, we work with your body to help restore better movement and function.

If you’re ready to get to the root of what’s going on, give our office a call.

We’re not saying we’re perfect, but these are a few things we are pretty proud of. 🌟

At Still Point, we believe good care looks like more than fitting you into an appointment and sending you on your way. It looks like listening, looking at the whole picture, taking time to understand why something is happening and creating a plan that makes sense for you and not just your symptoms.

The goal isn’t to keep you coming back forever, but to help your body function better so you can get back to doing the things you love.

If you’ve never been to Still Point before, you may be surprised at what happens here.

We talk. A lot.
We ask questions.
We explain what we are finding.
We laugh.
We take our time.
We want you to leave understanding your body a little better than you did when you walked in.

Your body doesn’t work in isolated parts though. When something isn’t moving or functioning well, other areas can pick up the clack, and eventually, that’s where you may start feeling it.

Maybe we are a little biased, but we think these deserve a lot more attention.

Sometimes the most valuable things are the ones that give us the opportunity to listen, use our hands, support the body’s natural healing processes and give things time to work.

The “less rushed, more thoughtful” approach deserves some hype too.
