How many rounds of antibiotics has your child had this year?

Most parents can answer instantly.
Most have never been asked.

Sometimes antibiotics are necessary. That's not the question.
The question is what happens when the cycle keeps repeating.

Repeated antibiotic exposure can disrupt the gut microbiome, which plays an important role in immune regulation. When a child moves from one illness to the next without ever fully recovering, it's time to zoom out and look at the pattern.

Four rounds of antibiotics.
Two ear infections. A sinus infection.
A cough that never fully cleared before the next thing started.

It's easy to write it off as "just a kid thing."

But when illness keeps repeating, the question is no longer just what your child caught.

It's WHY their immune system keeps struggling to recover.

And with a new school year about to start, now is the time to break the pattern before it repeats.

Read the blog to understand what may be driving your child's recurring illnesses - and what to look at before the next school year gets underway.

GOOD CARE IS WORTH SHARING.

This August, refer a friend or family member to CNMA, and when they come in as a new patient, you both get $20 off a qualifying appointment.

You don't even need to come in together. Just have them mention your name when they book.

Acupuncture, massage, lymphatic drainage, microneedling, naturopathic consults, all qualify. (Express acupuncture sessions don't)

Valid through August 31st. Referral must be a new patient, both visits in August.

No single deficiency causes chronic fatigue.

It's usually the cumulative effect of several small problems that, together, become a big one.

Low ferritin. Borderline B12. Magnesium depletion. Low vitamin D. Blood sugar swings. Sleep that lasts eight hours but never feels restorative.

Individually, each may seem insignificant.
Together, they can leave someone exhausted for months while every test comes back "normal."

One of the most common things I find in patients with chronic fatigue who have been told their labs are "normal":

Ferritin: 14.

Technically within range.
Functionally? Often nowhere near enough to support healthy energy production.

Low iron stores can show up as:
• Exhaustion
• Brain fog
• Hair thinning
• Poor exercise recovery
• Feeling cold all the time

Normal doesn't always mean optimal.

The word they keep using is normal.

Blood work: normal.
Thyroid: normal.
Iron: normal.
Sleep study: normal.

And yet you are still exhausted.
Still waking up tired. Still crashing mid-afternoon. Still needing caffeine just to get through the day.

Normal does not mean nothing is wrong.
It means the tests ordered did not find what they were designed to detect.
Fatigue without a diagnosis is still fatigue.
