Survivorship looks different for everyone. For some, it means living with ongoing care. For others, it means a new chapter.

Every path deserves to be acknowledged with compassion and respect.

Today, we pause to recognize those paths.

Join us in honoring survivors by sharing a kind word or reflection.

It was just brought to my attention that twenty years ago today, I graduated high school. 👀

If you had told 18-year-old Katlyn that one day she would own Coleman-Taylor Funeral Services, she probably would have laughed.

At the time, I was focused on a career in cosmetology. Funeral service wasn’t even on my radar. In fact, my dad didn’t even own the funeral home yet.

Life has a way of changing our plans. Sometimes the road takes unexpected turns, and sometimes those turns lead us exactly where we’re meant to be.

Looking back, I’m grateful for every experience that brought me here and for the trust this community continues to place in our family.

One of the things I’ve learned over the last 20 years is that very few lives unfold exactly as planned, and that’s okay.

What has changed most about your life over the last 20 years?

The National Cemetery of the Alleghenies stands as a beautiful and meaningful place of honor for the men and women who served our country.

Located on 292 acres in Cecil Township, the cemetery was thoughtfully created to provide veterans and their families with a dignified and peaceful final resting place. Once fully developed, it will serve more than 100,000 veterans and loved ones for generations to come.

I don’t just talk the talk, I show up to learn so I can bring information back to YOU. 🤍

This past Tuesday, I attended a free estate planning seminar in Bridgeville and what I heard genuinely blew my mind.

We learned how healthcare costs… not taxes, not death… are the single biggest financial threat to middle class Americans.

The clock is ticking to protect yourself assets and most people don’t even know it.

Have you been in a situation where you had to spend tons of money on healthcare or nursing homes?

I’m looking into hosting a workshop like this at Coleman-Taylor Funeral Services. Would you come?

Success does not always belong to the smartest person in the room or the one who has life completely figured out.

Sometimes success belongs to the people who keep showing up, keep trying, keep learning, and keep moving forward even when the path is unclear.

Not everyone’s journey looks the same, and that is okay. There is a lot of strength in persistence, growth, and simply refusing to give up on yourself.

I need your help making a decision! 👇

I’m thinking about hosting a Father’s Day event here at Coleman-Taylor on Sunday, June 14th… but I know summer gets busy and I don’t want to plan something nobody can make it to!

The idea? Dads, grandpas, and kids coming together to build and decorate birdhouses. 🐦 Not just to leave with a gift, but to create a memory and a moment of connection while you’re here.

So tell me… would you come? Drop a YES or NO in the comments and help me decide! 🤍

Also, we have 5 more robins eggs in the nest out front! 🫣🪺 maybe one of the kids can take them home. lol

What an amazing evening! ❤️

Thank you to everyone who joined us at Billie Ann’s Diner for our Lunch & Learn on funeral preplanning. We are incredibly grateful for the trust you place in us and for the opportunity to answer your questions and share information that can help your families in the future.

Thank you for spending your evening with us… We loved seeing each of you!

If you had invited me to a Lunch & Learn 10 years ago, I probably wouldn’t have known what you meant. 😅

Tonight, we’re talking about funeral preplanning… what it is, why people do it, and how it can make things easier for the people you love.

Planning ahead doesn’t mean the end is near. It simply means your wishes are known.

We’re officially FULL tonight, and I can’t wait to see everyone! Bring your questions and your appetite. ❤️
