Celebrating World Softball Day and the young athletes who give it their all on the field.

If your child has pain that does not improve with rest, swelling, or trouble playing the way they normally do, it may be time to see a pediatric orthopedic specialist.

Baseball season is in full swing! And so are throwing injuries.

In young athletes, repetitive pitching and throwing can put stress on growth plates that are still developing. Pain in the elbow or shoulder shouldn’t be ignored.

If your child is experiencing persistent arm pain during the season, a pediatric orthopedic specialist can help evaluate and treat the injury early.

June is Hip Dysplasia Awareness Month.

Healthy hips support the way children grow, move, and play. Early evaluation can make a meaningful difference when a child’s hip development needs attention.

Scoliosis is not always obvious, and many children may not notice any symptoms at first.

Parents may notice uneven shoulders, one shoulder blade that sticks out more, an uneven waistline, or clothing that suddenly fits differently.

These signs do not always mean a child has scoliosis, but they are worth paying attention to. A pediatric orthopedic evaluation can help determine what is happening and whether monitoring or treatment is needed.

Today is World Clubfoot Day, a reminder that early diagnosis and specialized treatment can make a meaningful difference for children born with clubfoot.

At TPOC, our pediatric orthopedic team uses the Ponseti Method, a gentle, minimally invasive approach that gradually corrects clubfoot through stretching and casting.

Dr. Mark Rieger was the first physician in New Jersey to use the Ponseti Method for clubfoot treatment, and Dr. Bloom completed specialized Ponseti training at the University of Iowa in 2024, where the technique originated.

Early detection plays a key role in scoliosis care.

Scoliosis can sometimes go undetected in its early stages, especially in children and teens. Subtle changes such as uneven shoulders, waistline asymmetry, or changes in posture or clothing fit may be signs worth evaluating.

At TPOC, we provide comprehensive pediatric and adolescent scoliosis care. We offer advanced low-dose EOSedge imaging, which uses up to 96% less radiation than traditional X-rays, as well as on-site bracing when needed.

When surgery is needed, our Rapid Recovery Pathway is designed to support faster recovery, with 95% of patients walking the next day and discharged within 36 hours, and off narcotics.
