Aminah’s Bio:

My goal as your therapist is to create an environment where you can find success in being your authentic you! Together, we can explore the steps and recourses needed for you to get to your desired destination of well-being.

I specialize in mental health issues such as eating disorders, depression, and anxiety & substance use issues. I have a background in trauma-informed care and crisis intervention modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). My therapeutic approach is focused on you and where you are at in your journey.

My goal is to ensure every person I see feels that they’ve obtained the tools needed to regain control and power over their hindering circumstances. I am currently accepting new clients beginning at age 13 to adults.

Please Welcome Jon Martinez!!

Jon received his master’s degree in social work from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX. Jon worked for several years in long-term care, intensive care units, and elementary school settings working as a counselor and advocate for his clients. From his broad range of past clients, Jon has experience working with and treating many mental health diagnoses from major depressive disorder, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorders, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, mens issues, grief, and PTSD.

Jon utilizes evidence-based techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, and motivational interviewing to help his clients. Jon offers in-person and online counseling for children 6 and above and adults. Jon believes in creating a judgement-free casual therapy environment where clients feel at ease and are able to fully express their authentic selves.

When not at work Jon can be found with his dog, in the gym, going for a run, or weather permitting in the nearest pool or lake.

Welcome Famari Valdez!!!

Famari has a Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas A&M-Central Texas and has worked in the mental health field as a case manager and behavioral health technician for over 8- years. She found her calling to become a Social Worker later in life and obtained her Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington in December 2022. Her experience extends from working with survivors of abuse, inmates in the Texas prison system and patients in an inpatient hospital setting.

Famari has experience providing mental health treatment and case management services to children, adults, and families. She also has extensive training working with Veterans and is proud to say she is a Veteran herself. She has also worked with a variety of issues, including grief and loss, trauma, and adjustment/life changes and has experience collaborating with professionals on multidisciplinary teams in a variety of settings and working with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Famari utilizes a client-centered approach. She believes in the power of the therapeutic relationship and values the importance of building rapport with clients. She supports clients finding a therapist they feel is a good fit for them based on their individual treatment needs and goals. Famari believes in the inherent resilience of the human spirit and embraces a strengths-based lens when working with individuals who have experienced grief and loss as well as other challenges and stressors. She hopes to help you engage and enhance your capacity for introspection, reflection, and self-awareness to better understand and navigate your past, present, and future.

Famari promotes and embraces the practice of mindfulness and gratitude, the value of human connection, and the importance of finding meaning, purpose and joy in one’s life.

Meet our newest therapist, Jourdan Kolb!!

Jourdan received her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Texas State University in San Marcos, TX. She has experience in Skilled Nursing Facilities, Residential Treatment Centers (RTC) for adolescents and working with victims of crime.

She utilizes different treatment modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-based techniques, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to help adolescents/teens, families and adults with ADHD, anxiety, depression, and stress management. She is accepting both in-person and telehealth appointments for individual (11 years old and up) and family counseling. She strives to help individuals manage stress, set boundaries, find coping skills, self-worth and improve communication skills in a judgement-free environment.

In her free time, Jourdan enjoys spending time with family, friends, and pets, creating art and traveling.
