It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Dr. Larry McCray.

Dr. McCray opened his oral surgery practice in Cedar Rapids in 1969. Following its merger with Cedar Rapids Oral Surgery, his practice became part of the foundation of the organization we are proud to continue today.

For more than 30 years, Dr. McCray provided exceptional care to patients throughout Eastern Iowa. He was known not only for his surgical expertise, but also for his generosity, compassion, unwavering commitment to his patients and colleagues, and the positive attitude and sense of humor that brightened our office.

His legacy lives on in the practice he helped build and in the countless lives he touched throughout his distinguished career. We are deeply grateful for the contributions he made to our profession, our community, and the history of our practice.

Our heartfelt condolences are with Dr. McCray's family, friends, former patients, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. As they celebrate his remarkable life, we join them in remembering an exceptional surgeon, mentor, husband, father, and friend.

In lieu of flowers, the McCray family has requested that memorial donations be made in his honor to the Alzheimer's Association.
