Thinking about removing a tattoo? Here’s how laser tattoo removal actually works (and what to expect).

The biggest misconception I hear is that tattoos are “burned off.” That’s not what happens at all.

Laser tattoo removal works by sending highly targeted light energy into the skin that breaks the tattoo ink into tiny particles. Your body’s immune system then gradually clears those particles away over time.

Why it takes multiple sessions:
-Ink sits in multiple layers of the skin
-Different colors respond at different speeds
-Your body needs time between sessions to flush the ink out
-Most people need a series of treatments spaced several weeks apart for best results.

What affects how quickly it fades:
-Age of the tattoo (older tattoos usually fade faster)
-Ink color (black fades easiest, colors can take longer)
-Depth and density of the ink
-Location on the body (areas with better circulation respond faster)

What it feels like:
Most clients describe it as a quick snapping sensation — similar to a rubber band. Treatments are fast, and we use methods to keep you as comfortable as possible.

3 signs your skin is dehydrated versus dry
(and what to do about each)

Most people use "dry" and "dehydrated" like they mean the same thing. They don't — and treating the wrong one is why your skincare routine might not be working.

DRY SKIN is a skin type. It means your skin doesn't produce enough oil on its own.

Signs you have dry skin:
📌Your skin feels tight or rough almost all the time, not just after washing
📌You notice flaking or peeling, especially around your nose, chin, and cheeks
📌Creams and lotions absorb almost instantly because your skin is starving for moisture

What to do about it:
👉Use a rich, cream-based moisturizer with ceramides and fatty acids
👉Avoid foaming cleansers — switch to a gentle cream or oil-based cleanser
👉Look for ingredients like squalane, shea butter, and hyaluronic acid
👉Consider a medical-grade facial that restores your moisture barrier from the inside out

DEHYDRATED SKIN is a condition. Any skin type can be dehydrated — even oily skin. It means your skin is lacking water, not oil.

Signs your skin is dehydrated:
📌Your skin looks dull and tired even when you've slept well
📌Fine lines seem more noticeable than usual, especially under your eyes and on your forehead
