Caregiving is one of the most meaningful roles you can take on—but it can also be one of the most demanding. In the process of caring for someone else, it’s easy to forget about your own needs.
But your well-being matters just as much. Taking breaks, getting enough rest, eating well, staying active, and doing things you enjoy aren’t luxuries—they’re necessities. When you take care of yourself, you’re better able to show up with patience, energy, and compassion for the person relying on you.
Remember: you’re not being “less of a caregiver” by caring for yourself—you’re being a stronger one.
