We are so honored to welcome our newest chamber member...Schott Physical Therapy LLC. Lauren Schott, PT, DPT has a very personal story on her why! Why did she open Schott Physical Therapy? Read what she shares below 👇

Hi! My name is Lauren E. Schott, PT, DPT, and I am the owner of Schott Physical Therapy. I have been a physical therapist for 10 years, and my passion has always been helping people reach their maximum potential. I never dreamed of owning my own business. In fact, it was something I never wanted to do! But sometimes life leads us down a path we never expected.

When my son, Evan, was diagnosed with ADHD at age 6, we struggled to find ways to help him manage his emotions and behaviors. We were told medication was our best option because nothing else was working. We reluctantly tried it, but within a week, his meltdowns became worse, he wasn't eating, and he wasn't sleeping. We knew we needed another option.
Our local psychologist recommended neurofeedback, explaining that it could take a month to notice improvements. But after just FOUR sessions, we saw a remarkable change! Evan's daily, hour-long aggressive meltdowns decreased to approximately once a week, lasting less than 10 minutes.

For months, twice a week, I would leave my physical therapy job in Indiana, rush back to Celina to pick up my kids, drive to Piqua for neurofeedback, and then head back home for sports and family activities. The days were long and exhausting, but seeing my son happier and better able to manage his emotions made every mile worth it. During this time, I kept hearing Pastor Craig Flack say in church, "Sometimes God wants us to do hard things that we don't want to do." I tried to ignore that message, but eventually I knew what I needed to do. Just one week before the training, I signed up for a neurofeedback course in California. That decision led to Schott Physical Therapy.

I wanted families in our community to have access to neurofeedback without the long drives and at a more affordable cost. Today, Evan is happier, tells me he loves me, and is better able to manage his emotions. He still has difficult moments, just like any child, but we now have tools to help him. He currently does neurofeedback approximately once a month and is not taking ADHD medication. This is our family's experience, and I understand that every child's needs and responses to treatment are different.

At Schott Physical Therapy, I offer neurofeedback, traditional physical therapy, and dry needling with individualized, one-on-one care. Neurofeedback is a noninvasive form of brain training that helps the brain practice better self-regulation. Because the brain plays a role in nearly everything we do, neurofeedback may be explored for a wide range of challenges, including ADHD, autism-related difficulties, oppositional defiant disorder (ODD), anxiety, emotional regulation, sleep disorders, headaches, post-concussion symptoms, seizures, and attention and behavioral concerns. My goal is to help the brain function more efficiently so individuals can reach their maximum potential.

As a self-pay clinic, I can focus on what each patient needs without insurance restrictions on visit limits or treatment choices.
Physical Therapy Pricing:
• Initial evaluation and treatment: $150
• Follow-up visits: $55 per hour
Depending on the patient's needs, treatment may include traditional physical therapy, dry needling, and a shortened neurofeedback session when appropriate.

My goal is simple: To provide affordable, individualized Brain & Body Strengthening right here in Celina, helping children and adults reach their maximum potential.
I didn't open Schott Physical Therapy because I wanted to own a business. I opened it because I saw what a difference neurofeedback made for my son, and I wanted other families to have the opportunity to explore that same option.

Welcome Dr. Lauren and THANK YOU for all you do to better the lives of your patients. For more information check out Schott Physical Therapy LLC...

🧡 **ADHD Awareness Month** 🧡

Being a mom of a child with ADHD means loving a child with your whole heart… while sometimes carrying worries you rarely say out loud.

You lie awake wondering…

💭 *Will they be okay?*
💭 *Will school always be this hard?*
💭 *Will they find friends who truly understand them?*
💭 *Will they make safe choices when I’m not there?*
💭 *Will people see their heart instead of their behavior?*
💭 *Will they ever realize how smart, funny, creative and capable they really are?*

And then there are the questions we ask ourselves…

*Am I doing enough?*
*Was I too hard on them today?*
*Should I have handled that meltdown differently?*
*Am I advocating enough at school?*
*What am I missing?*
*How do I help them without making them feel like something is wrong with them?*

Sometimes we become so focused on regulating **their** emotions that we don’t realize how dysregulated **we** have become.

That’s one reason I love that Neurofeedback doesn't have to be just for the child. 🧠💗

Neurofeedback is a form of brain training designed to support self-regulation. For children with ADHD, it may help support areas such as attention, impulsivity, emotional regulation, sleep and overall regulation.

But Mom’s nervous system deserves support, too.

For a mother who is constantly anticipating the next phone call from school, worrying about her child’s future, managing appointments, navigating behaviors and wondering whether she is making the right decisions, that stress can add up.

Neurofeedback may also help adults with relaxation, stress regulation and sleep—giving Mom an opportunity to work on calming **her own nervous system** while her child works on theirs. 💕

Because sometimes the best thing we can do for our children is take care of the person they depend on every single day.

And to every ADHD mom who wonders if she’s doing enough…

Your child doesn’t need a perfect mom.

They need someone who continues to learn them, advocate for them, believe in them and remind them that their brain being different doesn't mean it is less. 🧠🧡

**Different brain. Different strengths. Different path.
And so much potential.**

🧡 October is ADHD Awareness Month! 🧡

ADHD is so much more than having trouble paying attention. It can affect emotional regulation, impulse control, sleep, sensory processing, organization, executive functioning, and relationships—and it can look very different from one person to the next.

This month is about replacing judgment with understanding and recognizing that different brains may need different kinds of support. 💙🩷🧡

At Schott Physical Therapy LLC, we believe in supporting the whole person—brain AND body. Through movement, physical therapy, and neurofeedback, our goal is to help each individual build skills, confidence, and greater regulation.

🧡 Different brains do amazing things.
💙 More awareness.
🩷 More understanding.
🧡 More support.

Throughout October, we’ll be sharing information about the ADHD brain, including sleep, emotional regulation, sensory needs, executive functioning, movement, and neurofeedback.

Follow along for ADHD Awareness Month! 🧠✨

💗💙 HEAVY WORK = Small Activities with BIG Benefits! 💙💗

Did you know that everyday activities like pushing, pulling, carrying, lifting, climbing, jumping, squeezing, and even chewing can give the body valuable sensory input?
These types of activities are often called “heavy work.” They provide resistance through the muscles and joints and can help support body awareness, attention, coordination, and nervous-system regulation. And what you see on the surface is only the tip of the iceberg! 🧊

Heavy work can also support important foundational skills like proprioception, vestibular processing, interoception, motor planning, core and shoulder stability, coordination, and hand/wrist strength.

The best part? Heavy work doesn’t have to look like “therapy.” It can be incorporated into play, chores, sports, school, and everyday activities. Small activities can build a stronger foundation for everyday life. 🧠💪

At Schott Physical Therapy, we believe in strengthening the whole person—stronger bodies and brighter brains! 💗💙
